This is a gem in the Hollywood area. The exhibit area was absolutely an education. There is only a $2.00 for this, but the rest of the Nature Center is free. There were many different birds and other creatures along the walking trails. We were not able to do all the trails, but will definitely come back again to walk... More

Duck into this nature center right on Sheridan near the beaches. Two main trails both are beautiful. Listen to the snapping shrimp. See the little crabs on the boardwalk and roots of the mangroves. Birds wading and poking their beaks into the mud at low tide to find food. Climb the tower for a stunning view of the area. Ride... More

Most activities are free. Canoe/kayake rentals are not of course. All resonable priced. Great trails and vistas/views associated with each. Oberservation tower that has views of Fort Laudedale, the Port and the beach. Fishing is allowed but adults must have permit. South side of park has great trails for mountain biking. When you get tired of the sun and crowds at the beach, enter into a lovely, peaceful park which beckons with quiet and peaceful walkways. There are also kayak or boat rides but it is necessary to go online or call for exact times.

We stopped in after seeing the sign for the Nature Center (and I think it also said birding trail??). We went to the top of the look-out tower and didn't see a single bird. We walked the trail (which was very nice - not a "trail" really but like a deck) and again, NO BIRDS. No fish. We did see... More

We enjoyed this park with my one year old. The boat ride was very pretty. The walk out to the gazebo over the water was nice, and we especially enjoyed the many fiddler crabs. The tower was great, especially the elevator so that I didn't have to tote my one year old to the top. The nature center itself is... More

We made a quick trip to Anna Kolb (were pressed for time) but the hour that we were there I was very impressed. Nice exhibits, visitors center, boardwalk trails, observation tower... We saw Mangrove Tree Crabs, a couple of butterflies (including the Florida state butterfly), lizards and an iguana. Very nice place, would definitely come back and spend more time.

Love to visit here and walk the walkways out to the lake and to the inter coastal. The museum is very interesting. One of these days I will take the boat ride they offer and go kayaking. One of the first places I visited when I moved here 10 years ago.

You get back to nature here. The nature center has great educational items. You can go across to rent a kayak or canoe and navigate the wetland waterway trails or go into West Lake or out to the Intercoastal Waterway. A great way to spend a day.
