We drive by all the time and I've always found the building pretty. My husband and I finally visited for Burns: A Post-Apocalyptic Play, which we both really enjoyed. There is a small bar and the seating itself small as well, but you get a good view of your show. The interior may be a bit outdated, but you don't... More

The quality of performances varies. I have gone from a season member for years to selecting 2 - 3 shows a season. I have had to walk out 50% of the time due to the poor quality. Choose your shows wisely and save some money.

The plays are fine here, but the smell isn't. It is a lovely, old building that needs some fresh air...sadly.

While in Gainesville on our way to Florida I searched for something unique to do on a Saturday night. I was pleased to find that the Hippodrome Theatre was offering a showing of Some Like It Hot that evening, but unfortunately it was sold out. It surprised me that a play was being performed right after so we purchased tickets.... More

Seen some good shows here. Staff is very nice, they have some good actors. Best thing of all show your student ID and get a discount. Good thing to do on a night there is nothing to do.

So, we're walking down the street after dinner and see the theatre and I say "Hey let's go in and see the show". What a great idea that was. There's not a bad seat in the place. The show was funny and entertaining. We saw Slasher. We would definitely return again.

Every show I've seen here, you feel like you are right on stage. It is quite an experience. There is not a bad seat in the house. Many productions have questionable language and innuendos, but the acting is great.

Always great seats and the venue is worth the visit. Lots of great places to eat in "downtown" Gainesville to make going to the theatre and a night out.

You know you are in downtown Gainesville when you see the Hippodrome. Nice place to go with friends for concerts.
