The theatre is located in an old historic post office building. The design of the seating and stage makes the audience feel like they are part of the show. We saw the recent production of Peter and the Starcatcher which was hilarious.

A great old building, fun to look at, but it's even better to take in a performance. We saw the Snow Queen and it was captivating.

My husband and I were in town for the TN/FL game and decided to take in a play while in town. We were fortunate enough to get front row seats for Peter & the Starcatcher. We were amazed with the entire experience!!! Amazing, intimate setting makes you feel like you are a part of the production!! First class venue &... More

We love watching their plays! So much fun and such talented actors/actresses. We watched Winter Wonderettes last winter and just watch Peter and The Starcatcher, both were superb. Perfect for date night or when family is in town. Smaller theatre but that makes it nice so there's not too many people. Keep up the great work!!!

For 17 years we had season tickets at the Hipp. It is one of the things that makes Gainesville awesome. The productions are professional, unexpected, entertaining and always a fabulous date. I would give it 6 stars if there was one more.

Wife and I saw honkytonk angels. Three great singer/performers. Loads of familiar music very well done. Great little venue all seats are very good, up close and personal seating.

Saw Mr. Burns there. Great venue to see a play. Old building with a great history. There is a nice little snack bar that lets you pre-order for intermission. The theater company there is very talented.

We drive by all the time and I've always found the building pretty. My husband and I finally visited for Burns: A Post-Apocalyptic Play, which we both really enjoyed. There is a small bar and the seating itself small as well, but you get a good view of your show. The interior may be a bit outdated, but you don't... More

The quality of performances varies. I have gone from a season member for years to selecting 2 - 3 shows a season. I have had to walk out 50% of the time due to the poor quality. Choose your shows wisely and save some money.

The plays are fine here, but the smell isn't. It is a lovely, old building that needs some fresh air...sadly.
