Monet

Wow, I loved being able to see in person so many extraordinary pieces of Monets work and I enjoyed viewing works from other Impressionist artist as well.

I took an out of town guest to to Harn on a rainy day. I had never been even though I live 15 minutes away and figured it would be a way to spend a couple of hours out of the house. I so very pleasantly surprised at how much I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. It was free and there... More

A wonderful way to spend a rainy few hours & they had an Impressionist special exhibit going on. Very nice, small, interesting collections. I personally liked the Impressionist & Asian areas.

We visited on a rainy day. We were pleasantly surprised to learn it is free to visit and was much larger than my husband and I expected. They don't allow large bags so I had to leave mine at the front counter which I don't like doing (I guess I worry about my things being stolen a lot) but they... More

We were treated to a wonderful collection of pottery and a collection of African designed textiles and clothing. We had lunch in the basement, which was delightful! Many little garden areas are tucked throughout the collections, making this a delightful place to visit. No charge for the basic collections.

A monet exhibit will snag us every time and the Harn's monet was no different. Didn't like the $4 to park but loved the admission-free museum. Monet exhibit was small but, since we had never been to the museum before, we enjoyed the other exhibits also.

The Harn museum is a gem in Gainesville! We went specifically to see the Monet exhibit. There was about 5 original paintings there. Excellent!! There were also many other fine Impressionist pieces of artwork! Mary Cassat had some art displayed as well. Admission is free. Parking is 4 dollars!! Do not miss this art exhibit!!

We aren't great art aficionados, but very little here really kept our interest. They did have some Monet's which were nice, but very little else was awe inspiring. I love photography, so thought that that section might be interesting, but to be honest it was more interesting for the content of the old pictures than for the sake of art... More

This art museum is packed with a wide range of interests very nicely displayed. They often have wonderful special exhibits. This month is a fabulous exhibit highlighting Claude Monet's impact on the American Impressionists. There is no entrance fee charged but a reasonable donation is suggested. There is an excellent cafe on the lower level where spending on the weather... More

When visiting Butterfly Rainforest and Florida Museum of Natural History—the two top-rated TripAdvisor Gainesville attractions—I wanted to take in the Harn Art Museum, rated ninth of 61 Gainesville attractions. Unfortunately, it is closed on Mondays. The security guard, however, allowed me to visit the few exhibits in the lobby, and there’s a host of modern art on the exterior. Like... More
