fascinating works of art that are always changing. Just as interesting as museums 3 times it's size! The local art exhibits and items for sale from local artists in the store are always interesting, different, and reasonably priced Never get tired of the place!

Quiet and spacious. parts felt a little bare. some good pieces of art e.g. blanket made of bottle caps, but lacked cohesion in display so left wondering what the theme of gallery was. good cafe with excellent florida orange cake :)

Great facility and program. Interest may be affected by exhibit being shown. Exhibits are frequently rotated.

This museum was interesting, but quite small. The free admission (donations accepted) was a plus, but even so we ended up spending only about 20 minutes inside. They do have some impressive artifacts, but if you're used to larger museums, you may feel underwhelmed. Also, the docents seemed to be following us very closely, which was unsettling. In the end,... The asian collection at the Harn is one of the best. The views out to the Japanese garden beyond the Chinese Scholar Stones transported us to another place. The current Kongo exhibit was very informative and comprehensive. We spent about 4 hours looking at these two collections and ran out of time before we could even get to the permanent... More

The openness of these galleries are amazing. The exhibits are always top quality and often my only goal in a trip to Gainesville. There are several galleries, so one is treated to some of the permanent collections as well as several floors of different galleries with different exhibits. The gift shop is also excellent and I have purchased books here... More

The Harn always has something interesting going on. This month, I recommend the photos of Florida springs. Best of all, it's FREE!

Husband and I took the 6-year old Munckin to the Harn on a Saturday. Munchkin was complaining all the way there that it would be boring...but she loved it! She didn't know there would be metal horse taller than her dad, a BINGO game she could play finding things in the canvases of the modern art gallery, and real VooDoo... More

We almost gave this museum a pass but decided to pop in for an hour. What a discovery! Beautifully designed, imaginatively curated and free except for the $4 parking charge, the Harn doesn't try to be encyclopedic. Art is displayed for its beauty, quality and relevance, not for the name of the artist. There's a fine Monet but for me... More
