For town the side of Gainesville, this museum is quite outstanding in teh amount and quality of Art it displays. Traveling shows add to the experience. In addition there are many programs held each month to reach to the Gainesville Comunity to see films or hear talks on related topics. The aesthetics of the place make a pleasant place to... More

The museum is amazing. Love the art work from different parts of the world. My favorite was the stone work, they were amazing. Entrance fee was free, they do accept donation. It is worth spending a rainy afternoon.

This is a very well kept facility with attentive staff. I did not find the guards overbearing at all but informative and friendly. One woman reviewer said she felt unwelcome with her children. I'll bet they weren't following the rules about not touching the art and standing too close to the paintings. Often children are excited and don't know how... More

I understand it's an art museum, and they need to protect their collections, but I have never felt so unwelcome. The guards tailed us as if we were a group of art thieves, invading our personal space to such an extent that my oldest daughter felt uncomfortable. After discussing it with other parents in Gainesville I have come to realize... More

There was an older gentleman name Stephen who was a volunteer that provided great information about the exhibits. I was excited about the pieces I saw. It was very delightful and peaceful. I love the African exhibits as well as the Asian exhibits. All I can say is I would love to visit this museum again when I am in... More

We have visited the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art in conjunction with visiting the Florida Museum of Natural History several times - since they share the same main lot. We like to take our visiting guests to see the UF campus and share some of the Florida culture.

Another great feature in our Gainesville is the Harn Museum. Exhibits are always interesting and you get a wealth in new information every time you go there. Their exhibits are well displayed and informative.

Being next to the Museum of Natural History, I decided to visit the art museum. I was not disappointed and enjoyed my visit.

I often visit the Harn as the changing exhibits are always excellent. The gift shop is a great place to find a gift for the hard to please.
