I was in the Ocala area, and came across a beautiful brochure of the Kanapaha Gardens. Even though it was about 70 miles round-trip out of the way, I decided to visit. Unfortunately, the brochure turned out to be the best part of the garden and I was disappointed in my visit. I would consider it more of a nature... More

This was a very nice garden to visit. The Bamboo forest was amazing. Never seen before fruits, cactus and palm trees. Hot, so go early in the summer. The statues in the Childrens Garden were really neat. Glad we went.

The Kanapaha Gardens are over 62 acres and have a great deal of variety. There are two sections the East section that is about a mile walk and includes the largest bamboo garden in the Southeast, A Herb Garden, a Hummingbird Garden, a Rock Garden including Cacti, A Palm Hammock, a pond, and a Cycad garden. On this section of... More

KBG is a North Florida site that offers a range of garden experiences. There are natural areas, areas groomed to near perfection, areas for children, for the vision impaired, and for folks just wanting a lovely, quiet spot to relax. I've been here for weddings, for festivals, for change of season events and for plant sales. All are enjoyable. My... More

I really loved this place; it has an incredible amount of plants and gave me some ideas on lots of things I could plant at my place.

I went here with my two cousins while visiting Florida and these gardens were nicely laid out and really beautiful with many different sections. It was bit trying for me as I am not accustomed to the heat but it was well worth the visit. My favorite part was the herb garden. There are 62 acres to explore so leave... More

This place is enjoyable but it perhaps has seen better days. The plants themselves are still there, but the infrastructure of the gardens outside of the gift shop ranges from adequate to decrepit. Overall it appears it could use an infusion of money and enthusiasm. That being said, the place is still worth a stop if you enjoy gardens and... More

This botanical and geological marvel has been enhanced over the years. The bamboo garden is one of the most complete (and amazing!) I've ever seen. There is a great boardwalk into a sinkhole, and another out to the lake. The rock garden (where there are an amazing variety of flowering plants) is unique in this area. It's a great place... More
