This place is a must if you are in the area, we were unable to view the entire gardens due to rain on the day we went, yes the place is huge so plan on spending at least half a day here to really enjoy your visit. The main building could use a good cleaning of webs from the joists/ceiling... More

A not too miss attraction in Gainesville! I had no idea it existed until my son's senior year and my only regret is that I only went twice. The giant lily pads are absolutely AMAZING! The gardens do not cover a huge area but they are big enough for a few hours. Take your time, admire the paths, the flowers,... More

The grounds are huge and there are so many things to see. You can go back multiple times and still see something new. It doesn't get very crowded, providing a great place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. It also is fairly priced, especially if you get the annual pass.

My 11 y/o son and I visited in mid-July. Got there around 10 am and we were both thoroughly entranced for a solid 3 hours before the heat wilted us. Winding and shady paths were full of unexpected wonders and the childrens area was whimsical with a variety of aptly named plants (ogre ears, leopard snake...) that made us giggle.... More

Third visit and I will be back! There is something interesting to see every step of the way. It's great that the majority of the flowers, plants and trees have identifying markers. We enjoyed the water elements, bridges, bird feeders and other additional elements they add along the way. Even the animals came out to give us a show! There... More

It is hard to believe that you are right off a busy road when you are at these gardens. This is a beautiful, peaceful garden with many different types of plants and habitats. My husband and I especially liked the Vinery, the Bamboo garden and the Children's garden. The large lily pads on the ponds were amazing. We even saw... More
