The last time I was here was in September.

So things were a little different then - like the huge Victoria floating Lily pads were in the lake. But in May - no such luck. Apparently they are very seasonal. However, the... read more

Trail was not very even for wheelchairs. Plants seemed like they needed a little bit more tender care to really flourish.

The Gainesville's Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is not as great as they say. I was there yesterday because of all the advertisement I had seen. They hardly have any blooming flowers . It's like going to a state park and walking through woods with a path. Their so called water garden is an old creek with overgrowth of things around it... More

So things were a little different then - like the huge Victoria floating Lily pads were in the lake. But in May - no such luck. Apparently they are very seasonal. However, the gardens were beautiful & it was a joy to share it with my partner who'd never been there. Admission is very reasonable- $7 per person + tax.... More

My husband & I spend 2 hours walking through these beautiful gardens. It was a wonderful way to end our trip before we hit the road again. If this is your type of thing, it is worth doing. $7pp.

This place is pretty big and there is a lot to see. They have sections with different displays and species. There was a wedding going on the day we were there, which is a beautiful place to get married. There is a gift shop there that has a lot of neat things. If you are going to go into the... More

This is about 5 minutes west of I-75 and since we had some time to kill visited. Plants, trees, eyc from all over the world. Self guided tour of about 1.5miles. Different themes in each area. Didn't get a chance to see it all,so will be coming back. One of the better, lesser known attractions in Gainesville

Unfortunately I only had about 1 hour to go through the gardens. I was too late in the season for much of the bulb garden and the azaleas, and too early for some of the summer flowers. However, the herb/medicinal garden seemed to be thriving in April. The facility is well maintained. I think I could have spent 2 hours... More

Always something interesting in every season. Children's garden is irresistible. Even the gift shop is lovely. Take a couple hours at least.

A beautiful, tranquil garden area, fun for adults and children. The festivals are great with photo ops all around. Great place for an outside wedding.
