Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a great feature of Gainesville, with lovely walks amid the exotic and native plantings. Interesting plant life, and good information for the visitor. There is a nice gift shop, as well.

The bamboo gardens were impressive. I loved the butterfly garden. The herb garden was interesting. Next time I will bring bug spray though.

Perhaps the best botanical garden in Florida. As you can't compare a box to a botanical garden, because a botanical garden is comprised of several gardens. "Kanapaha Botanical" is 25 gardens, or 30 sub-gardens, such as: bamboo, butterfly, children, herb, humming bird, butterfly, medicinal, rose, water, succulents, rock, vegetable, etc. Then you have events, weddings, tours, and lots of plant... I sincerely enjoyed walking around the gardens during the annual spring festival they have. It's a wonderful opportunity to buy some great plants for good prices.

They have many "special" events at Kanapaha and if you love Gardens you will love your visit. Worth a visit.

We were here in the spring of the year and nothing much was blooming. It is a long walk around the 1-1/2 mile paved walkway. The park consists of 62 acres with 16 major collections Includes the states largest collection of bamboos and a large herb garden. They say the best time is from June to September.

I was in the Ocala area, and came across a beautiful brochure of the Kanapaha Gardens. Even though it was about 70 miles round-trip out of the way, I decided to visit. Unfortunately, the brochure turned out to be the best part of the garden and I was disappointed in my visit. I would consider it more of a nature... More

This was a very nice garden to visit. The Bamboo forest was amazing. Never seen before fruits, cactus and palm trees. Hot, so go early in the summer. The statues in the Childrens Garden were really neat. Glad we went.

The Kanapaha Gardens are over 62 acres and have a great deal of variety. There are two sections the East section that is about a mile walk and includes the largest bamboo garden in the Southeast, A Herb Garden, a Hummingbird Garden, a Rock Garden including Cacti, A Palm Hammock, a pond, and a Cycad garden. On this section of... More

KBG is a North Florida site that offers a range of garden experiences. There are natural areas, areas groomed to near perfection, areas for children, for the vision impaired, and for folks just wanting a lovely, quiet spot to relax. I've been here for weddings, for festivals, for change of season events and for plant sales. All are enjoyable. My... More
