When I was paying for my visit, the woman at the front desk pointed out on the map the different areas. She mentioned the water gardens. I expected some wondrous water features, but there isn't much: a small creek with a bridge, and another even smaller creek with a faux gator head in it. There is some nice bamboo, almost... More

I spent two hours on a hot, sweaty June morning wandering the trails of Kanapaha with my four girls (ages 4 to 13). Going in June, I didn't expect to be overwhelmed by blooms (and if that's all you want in a botanical garden, then plan your visit accordingly). But we were overwhelmed by beauty and whimsy and the wonderful... More

Our visit in late May means we missed azaleas but it was still very nice with flowers to see. Pretty good labels on many of the plants as I really do like being informed. Some part of the garden is sparse as the trees are planted for spacing at their full size. The kids area looked good with an intricate... More

I have been to this garden a number of times of the year. The past two years we have taken a group of kids out there pre-prom, and have gotten the best photos! I have also attended a beautiful April wedding there, and been to some of the festivals in the evenings. This garden changes throughout the year, and we... More

Trail was not very even for wheelchairs. Plants seemed like they needed a little bit more tender care to really flourish.

The Gainesville's Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is not as great as they say. I was there yesterday because of all the advertisement I had seen. They hardly have any blooming flowers . It's like going to a state park and walking through woods with a path. Their so called water garden is an old creek with overgrowth of things around it... More

So things were a little different then - like the huge Victoria floating Lily pads were in the lake. But in May - no such luck. Apparently they are very seasonal. However, the gardens were beautiful & it was a joy to share it with my partner who'd never been there. Admission is very reasonable- $7 per person + tax.... More

My husband & I spend 2 hours walking through these beautiful gardens. It was a wonderful way to end our trip before we hit the road again. If this is your type of thing, it is worth doing. $7pp.

This place is pretty big and there is a lot to see. They have sections with different displays and species. There was a wedding going on the day we were there, which is a beautiful place to get married. There is a gift shop there that has a lot of neat things. If you are going to go into the... More
