LOVE THIS PLACE! I can't wait until our grand baby is old enough to go tubing down the river. We have done it many times and enjoyed it every time (well maybe not so much during a lightning storm!). There is no way off the river so start early in the summer, well before the afternoon storms. Warm days means... More

I've been here 2 times before and I'm scheduled to go with my fiance and best friend this weekend (3/29) for my 3rd. I LOVE Ichetucknee. My best friends dad brought us here 3 summers ago for a week long camping trip, my first camping trip ever, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable summers! I've... More

Don't be in a hurry--you need most of the day to do this one and once you are on the water, no stopping until you reach the end. It's a bit of a drive to get to the put in spot from Gainesville, so be prepared. You can take your own canoe, raft, tube, kayak, or rent them there or... More

Many places around the park to rent tubes, very reasonable prices and you dont have to worry about taking them back, you just drop them off at the south part of the park. Tubing the Ichetucknee is a very zen-like experience, and the things you see on the way (manatees, turtles, birds) down the river is just fascinating. Dont be... More

One of the best outdoor experiences you can have. The water is cold and clear, the scenery is unmatched. Rent a tube or bring a canoe. We go every year.

I've gone here twice and each time never disappointed. Everything is gorgous, and it shows the beauty behind Florida's natural environment. This is one Florida attraction that has not been overshadowed by the mouse, and I am glad it hasn't.

I took my two girls tubing down the spring. Very relaxing, lots of Florida fauna, Nice clear water. Don't expect it to be a reprieve from people though. There were so many tubers , you were could've almost walked across the springs on tubes.

Start at the head springs (only accessable between memorial day and labor day). Float down an untouched spring fed river without any view of human development. Crystal clear 72 degree water year round. Avoid weekends, somewhat crowded, Arrive early as only a limited number of tubers are allowed in at head springs daily to preserve natural setting. Has been a... More

There's only one way to truly beat the heat in central FL and that is to hop on an inner tube and float down one our beautiful springs. Floating down the Ichetucknee, even on the most crowded day, is still one of the most relaxing hour you'll spend in your life. Come during the middle of the week and rent... More

No trip to the Gainesville area is complete without a trip down the Ichetucknee RIver. Durng the summer the water is so very cold and refreshing. And the scenery is beautiful. Stop on the way to the Spring and pick up a tube. The price and the tubes are the same no matter which vendor you use so just pick... More
