This is NOT handicap accessible in my book. You must go up a lot of steps and a mound to buy tickets in order to get in school house exhibit too. Too hard for walking with a cane.

Visited a year ago and found it's history and that of the City of Ft. Walton Beach interesting. For anyone living the in Okaloosa County it's really a required visit to learn more about your area. Many old and historic pictures on the walls.

Interesting & great history lesson. This place would be great for kids or for a classroom. It shows how life was years ago in the classroom. Cheap, & a hidden gem.

I've passed by this place for years and decided it was time to stop in. It was ok, slightly interesting to see real "old school" stuff. The guide was very informative but it just wasn't my thing. I normally like going to museums but I wouldn't categorize this as such. The Temple Mound Museum had more interesting things to look... More

This is part of the Indian Mound Museum tour. This exhibit had a lot of historical information pertaining to the Fort Walton Beach area.

Admission is included with your ticket to the Indian Temple Mound. It is a small two room school house but my son learned a bit about how things used to be and it made him appreciate what he has a bit more. Nice little walk into history.

It part of the Indian Mounds and well worth the time to see it. Takes you back and gives you an appreciation of what it was decades ago. We had a very nice guide there, Dan, to answer questions about the facilities. Multiple facilities, school, civil war museum, and post office.

This museum is a packaged deal. You must pay at the Indian Temple Mound museum and it allows you to see the Indian Museum, Schoolhouse, Post office and Civil War Exhibit. It only costs around $5 per person. (Military and seniors are cheaper) The museum is very small, so you should visit all the museums while there. There is a... More

A great chance to see what school was like way back when! Set in the middle of town along with some other great attractions. Great for kids and adults alike.
