If you need to step outside of the typical day of 30-A paradise, I would recommend a trip down to the Okaloosa Island Pier. Try to steer clear of the timeshare guy at the entrance to the pier right off the boardwalk (unless you're a timeshare kind of person) and go straight to the cashier, hand him your two bucks... More

The pier is a great place to visit. We saw people catching fish and enjoyed the walk. We were there about 30 minutes and the visit was well worth the $2/person.

Our last day of vacation we spent mostly on the beach in front of our condo in Destin. But by the afternoon I needed food and to sightsee a little bit. After we ate we headed over to the pier on Okaloosa Island. We paid $2 per person to walk out on the pier. I thought that was strange but... More

We took our kids over to the pier to let them walk out to the end. The cost was two dollars for adults and allows you to walk out or fish. There were numerous people fishing that day and we even saw someone catch a fish within minutes of walking out. My 3 year old son thought it was really... More

we arrived late at night, and my son and husband wanted to go to the beach before bed, so they walked out to the pier and had a great and safe quality time.

We were excited to stroll out on the pier at sunset and as we approached the entrance, there was a $2 per person charge just to walk on the pier. Really??? Not cool....I could see if we were fishing there all day, but for a stroll? Nope...

The pier is always a fun but stinky walk. We saw several sharks and dolphins, a stings ray and a huge turtle on one walk out. We never go to Okaloosa Island without a walk on the pier.

This place is mesmorizing. It only costs 3 dollars to go out onto the pier. The pier is in good shape and fun to walk on. You can fish here or watch others fish as well. It is great to come here on the weekends and just relax. Also, finding a parking spot is not hard.
