Heathcote does a Poineer day from time to time so we decided to bring a bunch of Girl Scouts. All the volunteers were helpful, patient and informative. Washing clothes by hand and churning butter seemed to be two of the favorites. The grounds have several spots to rest quite serenely and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Most of the gardens have signs... More

Lots of plants for sale, and a few cats not for sale.It cost $12., a very good tropical garden. A sign said Tai Chi classes. Among the flora & fauna are different sections. James Smith Bonsai Gallery is largest public tropical bonsai display. A lone banana tree, palms, cycads; a butterfly section. A very good value.

There's a banana tree, lots of Bonsai trees in the 40 y/o age in the Japanese garden. Shade to sit and relax. Lots of folk art around in the home made figurines made of used tools. $2.00 plants to buy and take home. Lots and lots of weird plants. $12 admission, get a coupon before coming

This was an average garden. There were different sections including the bonsai section, a butterfly garden (No butterflies) and the tropical plants. We walked through the entire area in less than 30 minutes. It was beautifully decorated in the bonsai area, but as you go further to the west side of the garden, it did not look as appealing and... Beautiful gardens, organized according to climates and regions - rainforest, Japanese, Butterflies and more. The Bonsai collection is particularly impressive, and don't miss the small reflection garden with its artistic pond. All in all we enjoyed our visit and loved the place. The only problem were the stubborn mosquitos that kept biting us even after we put on loads of... More

There awaits those who love plants a hidden wonder of ft pierce. You will be transported to exotic plants that you can admire and photograph. I greatly enjoyed my time there and it is conveniently located off US 1. People should go and support the garden

Amazing. I have never seen such wonderful Bonsai plants or breathtaking flowers. The reflection pool was stunning. My wife and I truly enjoyed everything about this place. The Japanese garden, palm trees, pioneer house and all the rest was fantastic.
