Not overwhelmed with travelers and not ambushed with shops... small fishing community and beautiful beaches with loads of shells and few people

A lifestyle much different than what we can find at home. The surfers took surfing to a new level for us. We enjoyed watching them speed by as they jumped waves and performed tricks. We felt they were giving us a free show.

My wife and I have boated the Florida coastal waters, keys, and near islands for several years. Only recently did we take a trip to Fort Pierce and were so surprised that the area is a boaters paradise. The area is perfect for cruisers whether making an overnight stop or spending the season at one of the many marinas or... More

Great little recently renovated park with plenty of parking. The ocean is beautiful here; it's a fun place to watch windsurfers and fishermen do their thing. If you go on Saturday, hit the Farmer's Market in Ft. Pierce for breakfast, then head out on South Hutchinson island to the inlet and make a morning of it. Or, go late afternoon... More

This State park is located on the North Hutchinson Island. It is well marked and easy to find. Not far off the last bridge you will see signs to the right. If you drive straight through, there is a lot of parking with multiple pathways to the beach. If you are familiar with this area, this beach is located where... More

A nice secluded area that offers a good play space for young kids or pets who enjoy the beach. There isn't a convenient way to get from the parking lot to the beach area though -- just cross the street and walk carefully down the small hill. That's the only downside about it, in my opinion. But maybe the inconvenience... More

This is a great park for picnicking, beachcombing or birding (esp. during migration time). With beaches on the Atlantic ocean and the Indian River Lagoon, there is plenty of places to dig in your beach chair and watch the boats, birds or dolphins. There is an entrance fee for vehicles at the Inlet State Park on the other side.

Make sure you grab a Rum Runner at the Jetty Lounge. Enjoy watching the people catch fish and relax on the swings for the sunset. Lots of families, kids, dogs. Often times there are Manatees swimming near the beach. Its always nice to have something to do for free.

We had a picnic lunch here...beautiful scenery! Nice beach...great waves if you surf. My son really enjoyed fishing here even though he didn't have any luck. Saw a sign that a beach wheelchair is available to use at the park, so if you are disabled, you may be able to access the beach too.
