It is a nice beach area for dogs. It is nice the dogs can enjoy themselves with their owners without a leash.

I take my Boston Terrier here almost every week. It's such a nice place with great views. Your dog can run free and play with the other dogs. Swimming is a must when my dog hits the beach and he loves it!

Since Bonita Beach does not have all of the shopping and eating facilities they have at Fort Myers Beach, it is less crowded. They have clean restrooms and an outdoor fresh water shower for rinsing the sand and salt water. There are several picnic tables. Some are located in an elevated gazebo. Others are on the ground with barbeque grills.... More

Our dogs love this park! There is a little bit of a walk to the actual beach. You have to walk through some icky water to get to the actual beach but if you can get past that, the beach itself is great. They have clean up bags which a few people don't find it necessary to use, but most... More

Dog defecation is great for swimming . The dogs love it. You can't blame the dogs. I don't know why pets are allowed on public beaches where cross infection is a high risk possibility.

Dog beach, more like dog poop beach and many unruly dogs and owners that allow their dog to chase resting birds on the beach and on the sand bar at low tide. I took my mother's dog there once, and NEVER again because of the ill behaved dogs and their owners. Their are free poop bags there... so why is... More

This is one of the very few beaches in southwest Florida where dogs are permitted off leash. A sad commentary about Florida's pet friendliness, as this is more of a sand bar than a beach. At low tide there's a good amount of sand beach. As the tide rises it begins to disappear. At high tide you must wade through water... More

We were sadly turned away from Lovers Key State Park due to no dogs allowed (even small ones like ours, both of which are under 6 lbs.), but the ranger referred us to the dog beach. First of all, we almost missed it, but once we did find it, we had to wade thru thigh-deep water to get to the... More
