We had a toddler and it he really needed his water shoes - sand full of broken shells! He loved the trolley ride to and from the beach - was the highlight for him. No trailers or child seats available at the bike rental!? that was disappointing.... probably not a great place for small children. more

Lover's Key is probably one of our favortite beaches in the area. There is a small fee to enter the park. This is still one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been too. We used to go quite often to fly stunt kites because you need room with no people to fly them. They have roped off most of the area for bird nesting and oats so the beach is small and there is no longer room to fly... more

I have been to Lover's Key beach several times and really have enjoyed it!!!!You can Kayak, hike trails, bike, picnic etc. To get the actual beach you can take a shuttle or walk. Visited the park in June. It is truly a little slice of heaven. A convenient tram takes you from the parking lot directly to the beach if you don't want to walk. The beach is ungroomed and very natural. There are bicycles to rent and ride on trails. There are also canoes to rent for paddling down secluded, shaded streams.... more
