I just finished a wading trip into the Gulf at the north entrance to Lovers Key state Park. Park rangers Jim and Katie were fabulous; showing us the magnified images of the sea treasures we all found. We enjoyed wonderful sea urchins, many crabs, egg sacs, lightening whelk and even a baby puffer fish! A wonderful way to start the... More

Pleasantly surprised. Planned originally to rent a kayak but the actual walking trail was wonderful. We saw more wildlife from our walk than we would have from the water. Crabs on the trees by the water, snakes under the palm fronds, turtles, alligators, big fish at the waters edge and even the top of a manatee against the shore. Beach is... More

Take the free open air bus ride to the beach for the day!! The beach is HUGE and you will feel like the olnly people there. There is a small stand for drinks and snacks and bathrooms on the beach. We also rented a canoe another day and paddles through the estuary, we saw 3 manities and several species of... More

Nice walking beach, but I wouldn't swim there. There was a lot of seaweed and the water was cloudy probably because of the boat traffic.

Very well run state park that charges a modest entry fee. Miles of beach with plenty of room to enjoy your slice a happiness. No life guards on duty but I don;t think any of the state run parks have them. Could use more restrooms and additional concession food to purchase. Bring a picnic lunch and you will be all... More

Lovers Key State Park is the area we enjoyed more than any other in the Fort Myers area. There is a reasonable daily charge for using the park unless you have a State Park Pass. We did purchase a yearly pass because we walked and enjoyed the area almost every day. There are varied ranger talks and activities. We learned... More

Loved the beach and saw and Oprey with its young. I was not feeling well or we would have kayaked. Liked the convenience of having lunch there.

Wife and i spent the afternoon here yesterday and really enjoyed it. Tram to the beach, lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent and you have a no hassle quiet afternoon on a great beach. Snacks and rest rooms readily available. There is a fee to enter the park of 8$ but worth the experience
