The beach is huge, room for everyone. Good for shelling. Bit of a walk from car park. Can hire sunbeds and umbrellas. A great place to go for a walk along the sand

The best way to keep a beach nice? Control the access to it and it has worked at Lovers Key! I have taken my children there numerous times and enjoyed each one! Be prepared for a hike or a tram ride to get to the beach but it is so absolutely beautiful and not overly crowded. Enjoy it and keep... More

During my trip in January, it was a little chilly so we decided to do a little adventuring. We walked through this park and it was beautiful! Definitely a side of Florida you don’t usually see as you are too busy enjoying the beach. We got up and walked around earlier in the morning - great place to enjoy a... More

Walked to a desolate area of beach on northern part and had the beach to,ourselves. Absolutely breathtaking colors, blue sky , white beach. A must see!

Great place to experience natural Florida. We rode our bikes on the trails in the morning - note that the trail is mostly packed sand with some soft spots, roots, and rocks - not a place for road bikes, but we were fine with our hybrids. Also you can rent bikes. We had taken a picnic lunch which we enjoyed... More

First and foremost check the tide chart for the day you are going! At high tide most of the beach is under water. The beach is wide and shallow at lower tides but you will still have to walk through a little water, mostly big puddles, to get to it. Bring a chair, poop bags, a bowl and water for... More

My newly-wed wife and I came to this park on our honeymoon and had a blast. The park was absolutely gorgeous in spite of the rain that we encountered while on the island after departing the tram. Overall it was a great way to start off the honeymoon and with what better of a name for our occasion? Ha! :)

We went for a day of kayaking and beach and enjoyed it very much. Rented kayaks from the state park and spent two hours expiring the waters. Saw various birds plus two different manatee and a dolphin! The beach was quiet and nice. Overall a great experience. Kayaking cost for half day was $58 plus tax for two person kayak... More

There are so many ways to enjoy this wonderful place that it is worth several visits. We began by walking to the beach and then walking northwards towards Big Carlos Bay. On the way we saw several ospreys on their nests and collected some interesting shells. The beach is beautiful and on the day we visited was quiet with only... More
