After reading many reviews, both good and bad, we decided to try the Shell Factory and were pleasantly surprised. It is a little run down but our 2 year old granddaughter loved the Nature Park. There were zebras, camels, goats, different cats, alligators, etc. She had fun feeding the animals in the petting zoo. The museum/store is huge and could... More

Was unexpectedly surprised when I went to the Shell Factory. We just went around the place and ended up being there for several hours. We need to go back to the Nature Park and Mini golf. There's lots of other things there besides shells. They have a wonderful sweet's shop with awesome fudge. They also have a small cafe. There... More

Okay, I love shells! So we listened to a local's recommendation to visit the "Shell Factory" -- which I had already determined I would not buy someone else's shells as I'm a purist in that regard, have to collect my own! Nonetheless, the museum of shells they have there and all the shells on display for sale are really quite... More

On the positive side- Cute tourist trap/gift shop with all kinds of bizarre gifts to buy and things to look at. The christmas display room was nice with lots of cool gifts. Overall, kind of like a "Wall Drug" or "South of the Border" with poorer management. When we went, they were having a barbecue rib festival in the parking... More

Although the store is mostly "shell" items, they have a large variety of other items including clothing and decorations. They also had a small game area for kids. The store is very big and you should plan on an hour for shopping. Clean, well lit and spacious. Very much a souvenir type store, but at a higher level, but with... More

This place reeks of cheap touristy gimmicks . During Hurricane Charly the sign read Hell Factory , it should never been replaced , the only good thing about it ,is that it has a Post Office in the complex

This is one of the best places to get all your south Florida souvenirs. I grew up in Fort Myers when Waltzing Waters was somewhere around here - I think for a time it was actually at the Shell Factory. But every time I return, this is the one place I never fail to visit. A budget of less than... More

We visited the store and not the nature park. Overall this is a very large collectible store that appears to have started with seashells but diversified over time. First a large collection of shells... Then a large stuffed animal exhibit... A section about pirates (small) then a Christmas ornament section. Overall- if you like seashells or such stuff- this is... More
