Be patient and have time when traveling this street esp. during a.m. and p.m. rush hours. There are many neighborhoods which run off of this road. Trying to get back on it without a traffic signal can be difficult and frustrating. Taking a left off of McGregor can be difficult also during rush hours. If you want to get the... More

We enjoyed our experience of driving down this beautiful street with the palms on both sides... We liked it so much that we drove back through and stopped and had lunch along the way. One of the loveliest drives in Florida.

This is a beautiful palm-lined drive through downtown to Sanibel. The Edison-Ford Estates are located on this road too.

We drove down the boulevard on the way to the beach! It's amazing! It is my favorite part of Fort Myers!

This is a main thoroughfare in Fort Myers. However, the Royal Palms towering on both sides of the road make you feel like you are heading somewhere special!

If you have never driven down this road you are missing out!! It is FREE and you can experience what OLD Florida look like many years ago. Just make sure you leave the picture taking to a passenger. Remember everyone is driving down the road taking pictures. Lets be careful out there!!

I drive McGregor Boulevard every chance I get. The palm-lined avenue with it's wide array of architectural masterpieces seem to go by too quickly each time I drive through, so I often see a new detail each time. Of course two of the most historic Fort Myers landmarks are on MeGregor...the Thomas Edison winter home, and the neon "God is... More

Take the McGregor Blvd route to view the historic road lined with palm trees if time permits. The idea came from Mina Edison (wife of Tom Edison) to beautify the street. It is especially beautiful during Christmas time. The palms near the Edison Home are lighted at night.
