Thomas Edison ask the city of Fort Myers if he could plant the trees along his property on McGregor. Thankfully they agreed and we have become known as the City of Palms. It is beautiful to drive from downtown almost to the beach seeing the Palms along the way. The homes are not all alike as most are now a... More

I think that no visit to Fort Myers would be complete without seeing McGregor Boulevard. If you go to the Edison/Ford Museums, you will drive down a portion of the Boulevard just to get there. Take some time, and drive the whole thing; it is truly impressive. Thank you Mr. Edison for your foresight!

By having the sidewalks on both sides of this wonderful palm-tree lined street, McGregor Boulevard is a great place to run, jog, and walk. I recently visited the area for a few days and parked my car each morning in order to enjoy this unique running experience as well as give a friendly hello to fellow walkers and joggers. A... More

It is so fun to come down and see all the palm trees lining the road. It smells very fresh if you roll down your window. You go by Edison and Ford's Winter Estate, so make sure you go there. It is also nice to see some of the old small homes along this road. Overall it is a great... More

Start at U.S. 41 and drive down the Royal Palm-lined McGregor Boulevard to see the Ford-Edison Estates, beautiful old homes and some great restaurants. It's Old Florida at its best!

My memories of McGregor Blvd. have beckoned over a 50 year sleep in the North. The Blvd. is now the drive home from the jazzed downtown to Iona, home. A drive along McGregor never fails to invigorate expectations of the best in life.
