The tall palms reminded us of Palm Beach; however, as nice as this area is, I would not make it a destination. If you are planning a trip to Ft Myers Beach take this route and kill two birds. If you plan to visit the Ford/Edison estates you will follow this route. It leads you back to the historic district... More

These royal palms are very impressive with some as tall as 75 feet tall. It is a beautiful drive with some history as the Edison and Ford winter homes are located along this road. This is one of the main roads you can travel on to enter downtown Fort Myers, giving the town the nick name of "City of Palms".... More

I am truly unsure what all of the hype is about. Forty years ago it was a scenic drive. It was a two lane road back then and was charming. This is no longer so. Just like Maggie Valley North Carolina, its charm was ruined by a four lane.

Palm tree lined almost its entire length. Beautiful homes almost everywhere as well as up-scale looking communities. You wont see any restaurants or gas stations till you drive down to the very south end.

Arrived and was not acknowledged by any of the staff who did walk by several times. One of the other patrons advised me that I should put my name on the "list" if I expected to be seated anytime in the the future. I passed the same info on to other customers who came in behind me. We were eventually... More

With magnificent Royal Palms lining the long length of this historical roadway...one can't help but love this Sunday drive. In or out of season..it's a stepback in time, and fun to oogle historic homes, McGregor Cafe, even the Buddah Bar...all while often catching glimpses of the River

Lots of palm trees to look at with nice houses. Not much else. Watch the traffic. It gets busy near the Edison/Ford estates.

We've been coming to this area for over 30 yrs. and have watched it grow and be beautified. Tom Edison envisioned an avenue lined with Royal Palm Trees. He did his part many, many years ago in and near his property and gradually the City of Palms, Fort Myers, took up the challenge and did exactly that. We watched them... More

McGregor Blvd is old school, old style, classy and elegant. The homes are great to look at too! We took this drive AS OFTEN as we could because it's just SO COOL. WELL WORTH the extra time it might take you to get somewhere.
