Fun place

The staff is very well informed and the butterfly area is just beautiful and the butterflies fun to see. Just a nice, calm place to visit.

Took some friends who were visiting from up North and their two girls, both under 10 years of age, were mesmerized. As were we adults. Such a beautiful place.

The butterfly Estates is a quite, peaceful way to get away from the noise and hassle of life and watch those beautiful flying flowers. It is smaller than I would prefer, and it is hot in there (butterflies need to stay warm, so it can get rather warm sometimes.) There's a lovely little creek going thru the center of the... More

It is a nice little place run by lovely people. You get all relevant informations about butterflies and you can feel that these people love the job. All butterflies are local in Florida and bought anywhere in the world to fill up the house. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back.

Butterfly Estates is a great place to take small children. My girls (7), (8) loved being able to identify the native Florida species. The staff raise and breed only native species and release them to the wild. We were able to see approximately 8 different varies of butterflies.

Do the docent tour. We self-toured and missed a lot. Exhibit is a little pricey, but interesting. The gardener was very helpful. She provided us a brief primer before we entered. Be prepared to be HOT. While there are fans inside, the enclosure is quite warm so dress appropriately. The ice cream shop and gift shop were very nice with... More

The Butterfly Estates is a grouping of several cottages and a greenhouse on a plot of land near downtown. The cottages contain a very nice crepes restaurant, a tea room, and a gift shop. Beside the Estates property is an interesting used bookstore. The butterfly greenhouse contains a small bridge overlooking a koi pond and small waterfall. Florida-native butterflies are... More

We didn't see the butterflies. We did lunch in the Z Crepes Cafe and checked out the fudge samples. The crepes were delicious and large. Mine was an herb crepe with shrimp, asparagus, corn, and avocado. Others tried and liked both the chicken and beef varieties. Daughter loved the strawberry and banana with Nutella too. Service was fairly quick and... More

Went with our daughter and her fiance. The admission price is a little high but we hoped it would be worth it. The garden inside with the brook running throughout was beautiful and lots of fish but as far as butterflies go it was very disappointing. I don't think we saw more than 20 butterflies in the entire place and... More

It was in the 60s on the day we visited. It was very warm in the greenhouse, but not warm enough. The butterflies won't fly until it is atleast 80 degrees. We only say 3 butterflies. It is a beautiful place and I assume in the afternoon when it heats up that it would be great.
