Hard to believe a beach so close to a highway can be so relaxing, but it is, just lay back on beach and let the ocean waves and breeze take you away

If you are in the area it is worth driving by or walking along the beach. The long boulevard is also ideal for runners.

Everything and anything you want can be found on this relaxed and very laid back beachfront! Santas all over the beach too! Great food, great mixed drinks, great atmosphere!

Nice beach with pretty sand definitely worth hanging out on. We saw a wedding on the beach and parasailing and many couples enjoying the beach. If we had more time we would have stayed longer, was very enjoyable!

I loved the Fort Lauderdale Beachfront even though we had a cold spell and it was quite windy. You can walk the beach or the pedestrian way along nicely, you'll find shops and great restaurants and hotels.

The beach is getting narrow in some places, and the traditional stretches of golden sand seem often at a premium. More serious is the fact that current road construction is a large section of beach virtually inaccessible. From Sunrise Boulevard well beyond 18th Street, everything is a mess— reduced lanes on the highway, no parking and almost empty beaches. That... More

OK been like 30 years since I was In Ft. Lauderdale. I liked it in my 20's and in my 50's. Quieter than I recall. Better food. still fun.

The Ft. Lauderdale beach area is clean and lifeguards on duty. While there's lots of sand and sun the beach area is narrow. While we were there, there were a lot of jellyfish on the beach and seaweed, but storms had been rolling through. There are showers at the street level for washing off the sandy spots. If you have... Not overcrowded at all plenty of bars and restaurants Nowhere cheap to dine if you want a snack though..Fort Lauderdale quite upmarket so public transport not great or fast food restaurants of you have kids to feed..these are all downtown which is a bit scary..beach trolley good

This is a nice Mediterranean restaurant on beach front strip. The place is almost packed any night of the week so try to get there early for dinner. A little pricey but food is good. Menu is very limited for Mediterranean and that was a bit disappointing.
