Ft Lauderdale has a great public beach. Wide and clean with many different areas. South Beach across from Bahia Mar, there is a picnic area. By Las Olas and north, there are lots of restaurants and bar and then condos, hotels,

Very nice and clean. Great for small children to play. Hardly any waves at all. Got to see the sea turtle eggs hatch on the beach at night

A lovely beach. Very clean. The sand is a nice "shelly" texture. A nice long walking track, tables, large car parks... In short, very visitor friendly, and only a short walk to large multinational hotel chains and lots of food options.

We have been to a lot of beaches. First time to Ft. Lauderdale and our family really enjoyed it. The water is clear, very little vegetation or smelly stuff on the beach. Lifeguards up and down the beach. Felt very safe. No pushy vendors walking around selling stuff like some beaches. Beaches were clean of trash as well. Most beaches... More

And found the beach to be very clean & easily accessible. It hasn't got the powdery sands of Clearwater, for instance, it is rougher sand/ shells. Lovely clear gentle surf. Lovely & warm in August.

Very nice. Lots of activities to do. Some areas have beach services for umbrella and lounge chairs. Nice ocean water. Just a fun time at the beach for all kinds of folks.

We stayed in Fort Lauderdale the night before our night flight home to the UK from Miami, and spent the day on the beach. It is a narrow beach that has a bit of a slope into the sea. The initial entrance to the sea has a bit of a drop and is a bit shale-y (broken bits of shell).... More

The beach is very very clean, the water is very clear too. According to your preference, you can be in the rentals and restaurants section or in a calm section to relax and enjoy the place with your family. It is always pleasant to go there.

Stopped by the beach later in the day and the party scene was starting to come out and there was litter on the beach. We came back in the morning and it was more family friendly and the beach had been nicely cleaned up. Meter parking available.

Nice narrow beach -- usually pretty quiet (except during the winter tourist season) -- but MAJOR road construction hassles for the city's North Beach stretch which begins at Sunrise Boulevard and runs north on A1A/Ocean Drive for about 10 blocks. ALL of the on-street parking has been eliminated, and will remain gone, through the end of the current State of... More
