The New a River is a wonderful river that runs right thru downtown lauderdale. Well worth going to the riverfront and catching one of the many boat tours offered along the river.

America's Venice, as the New River is often called, features homes, yachts and landscaping all with some interesting history that makes this river cruise worth a visit. The condos that line the downtown area are striking and the river front dining is great. Between Las Olas and the New River, Fort Lauderdale offers great alternatives to its fabulous beach.

This is a beautiful area to sit relax and watch the yachts go by. The Downtowner restaurant there has a great view on the water, great service and great food. It' also has a large parking lot and free parking behind the restaurant.

Fort Luaderdale is the "Venice" of the U.S. with all its beautiful canals lined with yachts. Take a water taxi or charter through the canals with great views of the multi-million dollar mansions with yachts to match. Make it a relaxing morning or afternoon and plan to stop at one of the restaurants along the way.

New River is just south of Las Olas so if you are walking west on Las Olas just cut in a block or two and ther is a nice walk along the river with boats and dockage along the way. There are also water taxi stops, a tour boat of the houses in Fort Lauderdale , catering yachts and a... More

There arent many cities in USA that can offer glitter and jazz for the not so loaded wallet. Fort Lauderdale is one of them. New river area is amazing. Whether you are a newly wed couple, looking for good times, or a family with kids looking for a good outing, or elderly looking for some quiet but not isolation....... this... More

This area is fantastic. I would suggest taking the water taxi around the city and up the river. There are a couple of stops within easy walking distance so you can hop on and rejoin at the next.

This area is close to a lot of nice things to do on the weekend. The Children's Museum, Broward County Fine Arts Theater (great architecture) and a great area for a Sunday Brunch. I am sure many people would enjoy this area during the week as well but it was a bit dead for me then. It is worth a... More

Nothing much to say except this winding river has everything on it you'd want to see. Follows through the area of downtown and you can stop many places. We used the water taxi. Homes, canals, yachts, beautiful yards, party boats, people watching (paddle boarding, jet skiing, walking the pathways, in other boats, the sand bar party is amazing to see... More
