Nice place to walk by the water and see the boats cruise by, restaurants and museum close by. Parking at Riverfront or near Las Olas

The New River is a big draw to downtown Ft. Lauderdale. It follow along south of Las Olas Blvd and has fabulous multimillion dollar homes, condos and several restaurants. Pick a table on the water and have a carefree lunch and then take a boat to see all the beautiful homes and large trees. Hint: take the water taxi, much... More

For several summers I kept my sailboat at the Marina Road Boat Yard; as far up the river as a sailboat could go. In November I would arrive, get the boat ready, launch and prepare for an off shore trip in the new year. There was lots of activity on the river the closer you got to the Intra-Coastal and... More

As a local we have even happy about the changes. But, as beach place started out with fun shops they all left. Now it's just kinda gross. Beautiful venue if some hot shot could just figure it out. On the good side, if you wanna go for a walk, it's great.

Fort Lauderdale's New River is fabulous for tourists! If you take one of the many sightseeing cruises, you can see the homes of the wealthy but also the enormous variety of watercraft (from small boats to mega-yachts. You may even get to see some wildlife like various birds or even manatees!

Walking along the New River is quite pleasurable. It is interesting to see all the different boats to include they're ccomings and goings. Stop and sit for a while and watch the bridges open up to let the larger boats go through. If you look for them, you'll be able to see iguanas sunning them selves. The first Sunday of... More

the blues concert was on, it was great seeing the river and the ducks and ducklings, so cute. We did not see the manatees. But it was great hearing the music, seeing the boats and river boats. Saw iguanas on a dock. never saw that before. walked back on Las Olas, great outdoor cafes.

Take this cruise on the new river. You won't be sorry, you get funny and amazing stories behind the scenes and tales of the mansions that you wouldn't know otherwise

Beautiful walk but if you venture far enough and cross the river you can get trapped and have to walk inland to continue. Access is definitely geared toward the side with the Broward County Performing Arts Center. There are some neat restaurants on the other side that you almost need a water taxi to access

Not really a river anymore, it's just a channel for big yachts to go up and down. The yachts: Hard to describe all the various huge yachts moored or traversing the New River. Astounding excess is probably the best description. The New River also has a lot of high rise real estate lining it, office buildings and condos, built in... More
