New River is just south of Las Olas so if you are walking west on Las Olas just cut in a block or two and ther is a nice walk along the river with boats and dockage along the way. There are also water taxi stops, a tour boat of the houses in Fort Lauderdale , catering yachts and a... More

There arent many cities in USA that can offer glitter and jazz for the not so loaded wallet. Fort Lauderdale is one of them. New river area is amazing. Whether you are a newly wed couple, looking for good times, or a family with kids looking for a good outing, or elderly looking for some quiet but not isolation....... this... More

This area is fantastic. I would suggest taking the water taxi around the city and up the river. There are a couple of stops within easy walking distance so you can hop on and rejoin at the next.

This area is close to a lot of nice things to do on the weekend. The Children's Museum, Broward County Fine Arts Theater (great architecture) and a great area for a Sunday Brunch. I am sure many people would enjoy this area during the week as well but it was a bit dead for me then. It is worth a... More

Nothing much to say except this winding river has everything on it you'd want to see. Follows through the area of downtown and you can stop many places. We used the water taxi. Homes, canals, yachts, beautiful yards, party boats, people watching (paddle boarding, jet skiing, walking the pathways, in other boats, the sand bar party is amazing to see... More

I love Ft. Lauderdale and New River is the best. Take the water Taxi from anywhere in the city, get off at New River, walk around, have a drink and /or a bite and grab the next water taxi to move on.

Take a Water Taxi or your own boat and leave around 06.15 hrs in the morning and you will have some great photo shots along the New River and great views of true Florida Homes on the Waterfront with some magnificent yachts. Alternatively if thats too early a trip down the river at Sunset is equally great. If you have... More

A must do item is a river tour. You will discover the Venice of America! The Jungle Cruise line is a great value.

The New River is such an asset for downtown Fort Lauderdale. It flows down and through the downtown area. The best way and probably the only way to appreciate the river is by boat. The traveler must be able to be on the river and sail the course of the river. There is no better way. There are several tourist... More

The best way to see this area is to take the Water Taxi. This is a pretty river with several historical sights.
