I say independent film because this is the place to see those film gems whether foreign or domestic--sometimes just as they are opening in other big cities--say NYC. It's also the place to see them when the chain theaters just don't show them several months down the line. They now have another venue on Hollywood Blvd in the heart of... More

if you don't want to see the movie, see the building and marvel at the eclectic list of films shown. Well run operation with good food and very comfortable seating. A cinema with ambiance and more.

I enjoy the variety of independent films in this historic venue so much that I volunteer every year during the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival. They have opened an additional theatre in Hollywood as well. They accompany many of their movies with refreshments as well.

this is a cool place to catch an independent film, or see their film festival which runs every year and gets great stuff from smaller film festivals like sundance. they also have and outdoor patio where sometimes they rent out to musical bands or benefit parties. a must see in Fort Lauderdale

Arty...not your run-of-the-mill movie theater. New films, foreign films, and the home of the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival. Located downtown, the concession bar sells wine which you can carry in to the movie--nice!

Lots of foreign movies, they re-enact Rocky Horror and Repo the Genetic Opera on certain days. Alcohol is provided, seats are very comfortable and the structure itself is church-like.

Cinema Paradiso is another what I call great "landmark" in Ft. Lauderdale. I've been there for movies but also for a wonderful event/party that was held for Alzeimers. Thanks goodness for places such as this to keep our world special and to give a nice reprieve from "corporate" type of establishments!! Personally I really dislike going to theatres that have... We were very excited to find a quaint cinema that caters to those with interest in the independent, foreign and art films. It offers a diversity to the Lauderdale movies experience that continues to make Lauderdale a great destination for folks who like movies.

Cinema Paradiso is a great hidden gem of Ft. Lauderdale. I would suggest checking out their website to see what sort of films they are featuring. It's a great place to watch a foreign, or indie film. They host the film festival each year, but have special films playing all the time. Definitely worth spending your dime there, rather than... More

I watched a Superbowl game here and it was great. The beer was reasonably priced and the popcorn was cheap but tasty. They served hamburgers, hot dogs and clam chowder outside on their patio which was a nice change form being inside for the game. The best part was the huge screen to watch the game on
