The Las Olas Riverfront is best visited between Thanksgiving in November and May when it's the tourist season and everything is buzzing! Great shops along Las Olas and Restaurants, but again after the end of May with many of the US tourists gone it does appear to become a little quieter, although that might be an advantage if you are... I can walk there from my house and there's nothing happening there anymore, a ghost town, ugh. Its sad, I had a lot of fun there years ago, but I guess nothing stays the same.

Beautiful riverfront in Fort Lauderdale. Lots of great places to eat with cute little boutique shopping stores. Try to view it from a tall building (I viewed from a condo on the riverfront) really, really beautiful. They offer a water taxi from the riverfront as well. A must visit in Fort Lauderdale very upscale.

My wife was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale. She spent a lot of time at the Riverwalk in her teens and 20's. It was the place to be. In 2009 we moved to Fort Lauderdale. We went to Riverwalk to see a movie. NEVER AGAIN. Since then nothing, absolutely nothing has changed and the Fort Lauderdale City Planners should... More

Guided by a tourist map in our hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach we had a cab leave us at what was billed as a shopping mall by the Riverside in Las Olas. This turned out to be a virtual ghost mall, all but deserted of outlets. Although only 10.30 in the morning it was a bit spooky and my wife... More

Looks like the recession hit this place. This place looked like a great place one time for many people to shop, walk and people watch. We took a fantastic Venice of America tour on the waterway and saw Manatees, porpoises, iguanas, peacocks, crocodiles(fakes), luxury homes with many empty, huge luxury boats, pirate boats, gondola boat, duck tour boat, and water taxis. We... More

My girlfriends and I stayed at a hotel on Las Olas for overnight and had a chance to hang out on Las Olas. After reading a few negative reviews I was a little afraid of what to expect. I had fond memories of years back and decided to stick with the plan. I am so glad we did. We had... More

Lots of restaurants and stores are closed, we need to invigorate the area with attractions to bring more tourists and locals there.

I went here with my husband before we were to see a musical at the Broward center theater which is nearby and to my surprise there was nothing here except for a movie theater. My husband asked me if I was crazy for wanting to go there but I remember when I was a teen coming here in 2001 and... More
