Guided by a tourist map in our hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach we had a cab leave us at what was billed as a shopping mall by the Riverside in Las Olas. This turned out to be a virtual ghost mall, all but deserted of outlets. Although only 10.30 in the morning it was a bit spooky and my wife... More

Looks like the recession hit this place. This place looked like a great place one time for many people to shop, walk and people watch. We took a fantastic Venice of America tour on the waterway and saw Manatees, porpoises, iguanas, peacocks, crocodiles(fakes), luxury homes with many empty, huge luxury boats, pirate boats, gondola boat, duck tour boat, and water taxis. We... More

My girlfriends and I stayed at a hotel on Las Olas for overnight and had a chance to hang out on Las Olas. After reading a few negative reviews I was a little afraid of what to expect. I had fond memories of years back and decided to stick with the plan. I am so glad we did. We had... More

Lots of restaurants and stores are closed, we need to invigorate the area with attractions to bring more tourists and locals there.

I went here with my husband before we were to see a musical at the Broward center theater which is nearby and to my surprise there was nothing here except for a movie theater. My husband asked me if I was crazy for wanting to go there but I remember when I was a teen coming here in 2001 and... More

Was very nice when it first opened but now has deteriorated into a no man's land. I think it will be torn down soon.

it's a ghost town here. It used to be booming with restaurants, bars and people. Not sure why everyone left but there are only a few restaurants left. Save time and skip this area.

We went to a really nice sushi/tapas restaurant on the beach but we were there on a Monday night and the riverfront was really quiet. Although there was music and people on the riverfront it was ok. I was more interested in the turtle's nest on the beach.

This used to be a great place to hang out, but now everything is gone. There's only a few restaurants left. What a shame, it's in a GREAT location, right on the water.
