Very enjoyable and manageable museum. Go early on a rainy day as it tends to get very crowded. The simulator exhibits are enjoyable for the adults as well.

When we saw the name of the museum we should have realized that it was designed for children, but we went anyway. The Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science is potentially a wonderful place take children for an exciting experience. But, here's the rub: about 25% of the displays were out of order. Some were labeled "Out of order"... More

Start with the amazing 2 story outside clock in the entry and you know this museum will be impressive. Watch a 3D movie, do a local news report on a hurricane, have your toddler pick oranges and use bicycle power to put them in crates, explore prehistoric animals. It's all good. The flight simulators and cockpits (as well as the... More

Even though I don't have little kids, I enjoyed the visit. We went there to watch a movie at the IMAX theater. The movie started at 4:15pm, and we got there early so we decided to spend time at the museum. It's very educational and have lots of games for kids. You can easily spend the whole day there. They... Rainy day, a museum with touchy feely, creepy, crawley creatures and interesting exhibits, that was a good combination. They have a very nice aquarium display, a few snakes, tarantulas, geckos as creatures. They have mind teasers, and magnetic tables with nuts you can arrange together in any number of shapes, an ambulance where you can be tied up in a... More

The Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science is the perfect place to take you kids for an interesting afternoon. It is one of the best interactive science museums I have been to. There are many permanent interactive exhibits that keep your children's attention and there are usually special exhibits and they also have a live otter exhibit that is... More

This is a great family destination! It is a very hands-on museum. One of our favorite areas of the museum was the dinosaur exhibit with remote controls that let you move the displays. Very cool! There is also a room where they have activities for kids including sifting through sand looking for shark teeth that the kids can keep. Definitely... More
