We saw two bird species and two raccoons-- more boats and people than wildlife. Staff was nice enough, but provided almost no information about the area's history, wildlife, etc. All we got was an airboat ride through some narrow channels through the mangroves--so no big deal if you've ever been on an airboat. The value of this trip was pretty... more

Captain Doug's advertisements are misleading. We saw NO ALLIGATORS, received no authentic Native American bracelet for the ladies (which my girlfriend was extremely disappointed about), and the guide made no attempt to search for alligators. The highlight of the trip was seeing raccoons, which we have at home in Massachusetts. I'd like to echo the sentiments of another user who... more

If you are anticipating skimming over the sawgrass marsh in an airboat with the wind in your face, this is NOT the tour for you. I did not even see any sawgrass (or any alligators for that matter). The airboat ride only consisted of traveling down a few small narrow canals into a few open water areas, and back. One... more

Having done a great many nature tours in Southwest Florida, perhaps my family and I are more critical than many tourists. Here is why I rate this trip as extremely unworthy of your time and money: Overpriced. At $37.50 plus tax for less than an hour. Uninformed guide: A nice man, but told us very little about the wildlife and... more

Great ride!!! Captain Ricky was awesome!!!! There is no alligator show after the tour (which is something that they mention on their website, but currently not offered due to post hurricane Wilma damage.. so they just need to take that off their website as it could be mis-leading.) Great overall and would recommend to others.. more

I decided to go here, mainly because of the reviews on this site. And I'm glad I did. We had Captain Marty, and we was very funny and also knew a lot of information about the area and alligators. We saw maybe 5 or 6 alligators, a few of them were right next to our boat. Also, Marty told us... more

We were recommended by friends to take a ride on the world famous Captain Doug's Airboat tours through the Everglades. I can see why! The facility had very nice landscaping and clean bathrooms which was a nice surprise. The staff were very friendly and we even got to take pictures holding a live baby alligator while we waited for our... more

We (family of 4) headed down to Everglade City the week after Easter, March 2008. After reading reviews, checking out their website, and personal recommendations we selected Captain Doug's for air boat excursion. If you have a group, I'd advise stopping at the Everglades Info Center (right on the corner of Hwy 41 and 29) to get a $10 off... more

What a rip-off. Almost $80.00 (for two) and all we saw were the Mangrove trees. The guide was boring and we didn't even go fast . We didn't get to see any wildlife and the guide kept claiming that there were animals there last week. Also, the canal was crowded by many airboats sharing the same route. Don't waste your... more

We took an air boat tour with "Captain Ken" and learned so much about the Florida Everglades. we had to split our large group into 2 tours and everyone was thrilled! But I must admit after our tours when we compared notes, we had the superior tour with "Ken" He knew so much about the area he grew up in... more
