Nice course

The course is nice but very challenging. Much too tough for my skill level. If you aren't precise with your shot placements make sure to bring plenty of balls!

As mid-handicappers we were tested by this nicely laid out course. Each hole presents a unique view, and even though the greens were rather slow the undulations on each one made putting a challenge. Only thing missing were ball washers and shoe brushes at the teees. The GPS in the carts was very accurate and could be manipulated to show... More

It's the 2nd time we have played the course...the last time in 2013. It was in excellent condition, far better than Innisbrook where we had come from. It's as good a course as you will find anywhere in the world, but tough if you are a little wayward. Greens were quick, undulating but fair. All of the staff were very... More

This course was a great layout and every challenging. The pins happened to be in very tough spots. Service was great. Price I guess was a little high but that time of year. Greens could have been a tad faster I Thought. Great course

Guess I'm a little spoiled by regularly playing many top rated courses in the Sarasota area (and many in Chicago in the summer) for less than half the price of here, but wanted to get a supposedly "primo" course in our 14 rounds in 14 days on 14 different courses holiday for my friend visiting from Canada for 2 weeks.... Very nice muni course. We played early on a Saturday but it was pretty quiet. From the row of carts at the ready, I presume the locals don't go out until 8am, so we beat the rush. Tough test but not unfair. Take plenty of balls as it's easy to lose them if you stray. Nice little clubhouse and if... More

A beautiful layout, a tough design, but a great number of tee options make Old Corkscrew playable for the average golfer. Be sure to pack a number of golf balls, because there are numerous opportunities to go in the water, or in the marsh. The greens are especially tough to putt. Nice practice facility, range balls are included in the... More

When you hear you are about to play a course designed by the great Jack Niclaus which acording to the guy in the pro shop is ranked Number 38, (he never did explain if that was no 38 in Florida, the US or the World) you would be for forgiven for having high expectations, especially when a two ball with... What a great layout, went here instead of traviso bay which we'd played before. This was a better choice. All played from different tees which made for a fun but challenging game . Comments about greens , slopes etc are all accurate, it's tough , but playable. condition was not top drawer, presume out of season rather than endemic. Staff... More
