We're back near Englewood again. Wanted to see a play this weekend, but it was sold out, so we bought tickets for the next show. On Saturday, about ten to seven we got a call from the playhouse, "Would we like to see tonight's show? Can you make it by 7:30?" Of course we could make it, and saw "The... More

Lemon Bay Playhouse is true community playhouse. All volunteers actors, technicians, and ushers. I saw The Good Doctor enjoyable. The opening curtain speech was to long all this information is in the program just great the people tell them where the exits are and start the show.

The only difference between this community theater and a professional theater is that the actors at Lemon Bay playhouse are not paid. All volunteers. The talent is equal to or often surpasses so called professional theaters. For an intimate and bracing performance make sure you visit this remarkable playhouse.

We have been here several times. Each time the play was great. very professional and well staged with wonderful actors. It is very small and intimate, so book well in advance.

For a measly $18.00 per person, you get to have a lovely night out at the most intimate little community theater, and complimentary refreshments at intermission.... What's not to like, this is the best bargain Englewood has to offer. I have never seen a bad play here, and we are blessed with such great local talent, it's unbelievable. And the... More

The acting was very good and the stand-in for an ill actress did a wonderful job. The hospitality of the playhouse was warm and fuzzy offering us complimentary refreshments at intermission; however, I was bored with the play. Had nothing to do with the acting, the story line was just too dry even with a few tidbits of humor.

We try to schedule our family visits to coincide with my mother-in-law's subscription dates, so we can go to the theater with her. We have seen several productions now, and have generally been pleased, particularly with the comedies. The most recent production, Sinners, was "bawdy fun" as they say, and the cast was quite good ... their timing was perfect... More

We have been there several times over the years. We are always pleased with the play, the performances & the darling playhouse. The plays are entertaining and well done. Lots of local talent to fill the roles.

We went to see Don't cry for me Margaret Mitchell. It was our first time at this theater and we were impressed. The show was hilarious and very well done. I was also impressed by the quality of the acting. This show is definitely worth seeing, especially if you enjoy a good laugh!

Frankly my dear, I had never heard of the play "DON'T CRY FOR ME, MARGARET MITCHELL, but I volunteer at the Playhouse so I have the privilege of seeing the dress rehearsal. It was absolutely HILARIOUS and I laughed till I had a belly ache. Tickets are still available for only $18.00 per person and because this is such a... More
