There were some bad reviews of this course, but they are before the renovation. Not having seen the before, I can only judge the current. The course is in very good shape, the staff friendly and if you book on line, the price can be very good. Played it once and will likely play it again before we depart.

Please trash all previous reviews of Emerald Bay. The course and facilities have recently been totally renovated and updated. Emerald Bay is without a doubt the premier course in Northwest Florida. We live here and have played them all! The fairways which were always top notch are even better. All 18 greens were totally renovated and will see if you... More

The course has been remodeled. This was much needed and job well done. One of the best courses at the beach now. The course has been extended making it a little more challenging. Kudos to the remodeled course

The Emerald Bay Golf Club was a bitter disappointment. It is very unfortunate that I must leave a poor review for this course. The potential this golf course has is literally busting at the seams. (It may be time for a superintendent change.) Almost every part of the course was in great shape, the fairways, tee boxes, bunkers, facilities, and... More

I booked through golfnow for $20 per person for 18 on a cold, January day. I read all of the below reviews, and thought I made a mistake. I didn't - the negative reviews were over-stated. I played 3 other places in Destin this month, and I think it's called the off-season for a reason: greens and tee boxes are... More

This course has the potential to be beautiful but the greens are straight up horrendous. Made my uncle go Holme to change out of jean shorts which I totally understand had it been a 3 star course. It wasn't. Tourist trap. Stay far far away.

Rental clubs were rusted--rain storm after three holes--lightening galore--no rain check and no towels to dry off with!!! Will never stop here again.

Have played here twice. Really enjoyed the course. Nice friendly staff, GPS in golf carts, challenging holes, great landscape and views of the bay on a couple holes. The only thing this place need is some serious work on their greens. Look mostly dead. Enjoyed everything else. Went after 4pm for good rates. No way would I pay $85

played there one afternoon to take advantage of very reasonable twilight rates. Liked the layout and the gps carts, however probably the worst greens I have ever played. We were putting thru sand, dirt, dead spots, etc. all day. It basically wasn't worth putting.

Very bad experience. The greens were the worst I have ever seen. Many were not playable. We rented clubs for $30 and the clubs provided could have been purchased at a garage sale for $20. The sets were incomplete and rusted. The kid out front was more interested in smoking than in helping us. Do not play here. Way too... More
