My husband I visited to see Las Misre but I have see other plays. I really like this theatre because of quaint “old time” feel. The shows I’ve seen there took me back in time. Oh what fun!

I am so happy that the people in DeLand decided to renovate this beautiful structure back to its original form! I have been to several plays here and was blown away with the exceptional talent. My favorite play Les Mez was outstanding and every show pretty much was sold out. Will definitely attend more plays when we are in town.

Went to an AMAZING Legally Blonde show with a group of 8 people. Picked our seats straight from the diagram on their ticket website's seat chart (5 seats in row L and 3 right behind it in row M and the night of the show instead of the rows being L,M,N (our tickets were in rows L and M) the... More

Hello Kathy, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed our production of Legally Blonde, but heart broken to hear about your experience with the seating mix up. My House Manager did inform me that this happened, although I was unaware of any discomfort caused to you by how the situation was handled. Until this occurrence, I was not aware... More

This theater has been through several incarnations over the years, and was closed for a long time while funds were raised for the restoration. It was restored to its former glory and has once again become a wonderful venue for shows and movies.

My wife and I attended the play Songs for a New World on our first visit to the Athens in May. We drove over from Apopka to celebrate her birthday with dinner at Cress and the play afterwards. The play was a good local community presentation that was definitely worth more than its very reasonable ticket price. But the real... More

This gorgeous theater is a true gem. It has been fully restored to it's original glory. I grew up visiting this theater to watch movies and now I am able to go back with my children and enjoy live shows and musicals. It is beautiful inside and out. They recently filmed scenes for the upcoming film Walt Before Mickey in... More

Last night we saw Le Miserables, our third show at this venue. I had seen Le Mis 4 times on Broadway and twice at other theaters, plus the movie, and several of the characters were better than the best I'd seen so far. It's hard to believe this is local amateur talent. What a great way to support the local... More

I agree that the off Broadway performances of "Les Miserable" at the historic Athens Theatre are a great value. Great acting, dancing, singing, and variety of entertainment, with excellent seating throughout the theatre for $20 or less! From and insider's view, Theatre Manager, Dennis Jefferson and the wonderful volunteers who great every visitor and theatre patron, are the best part... More

I went to see "les Miserable" on Sunday. The theatre was wonderful. There are no bad seats at all. It is an oldie but goodie. It was first opened in 1922. The theatre has great history and is located in downtown Deland. It has a wonderful manager Mr. Jeffries ( I think, he has a really cool waxed mustache) Anyway... More

They have a variety of plays offered through the year. Great for couples, family and friends. Nice to have something different to do.
