Deerfield Island park is a hidden little secret. You need to call ahead to make sure that they are operating. There is a small park on the way to the shuttle dock where you can just sit and watch the boats go up or down the inter coastal waterway. It is a great place to put in kayaks. There is... More

Most Deerfield Beach residents haven't been to Deerfield Island Park. They are missing part of the history of Deerfield. Formerly called Capone Island because of the rumored rum running of Al Capone back in the day. Nice trails, wildlife and I was surprised to find there are covered areas that can be rented for parties. Very reasonable rates.

Very good option in Broward County, a good place to visit with family, and they are very friendly, I like it and recommend to visit the park to see Iguanas, Manaties, nice picnic areas....I love it!!

One of the few places where original habitat was preserved - mostly due to limited access Fun for kids and adults to spend few hrs in the trees Many animals live there , kids will love it or hate it ( my older was terrified all the time ) younger had a lot of fun - daughters

It was easy to found, got on the shuttle boat right away and were on the island in no time. The captain told us the mangrove trail was closed because the latest hurricane had damaged the passage way (most of it is a suspended stilts) but we ventured just the same to find out that there are no real damage... I was in the area visiting my Mom who doesn't really go to parks like I do. This was only 15 min walk for me to get to the boat landing. I hit it in morning and the boat capt pointed out a few iguanas sunning themselves up high in tree limbs. I was the only one on the boat... More

First this is a park that is run by Broward county and access is only by boat and the shuttle they have is free (give a couple of bucks in a tip if you can)and runs on the weekend only. I was pleasantly surprised to see what it had to offer . You can spend as little as 45 minutes... More

This is a hidden gem in Deerfield - a great break from the urban world. Its a good weekend getaway but does not consume too much time.
