Nice beach, watch for the homeless people who hide out and try to mug the tourists. The cigarette butts are overwhelming depending on the tide. New Smyrna is much cleaner and safer. Would like to thank all of the cigarette smokers for creating a wonderful bloom of butts. You look great with a butt in your mouth! more

This is a great beach and well worth the short trip from Orlando. Parking on the beach is very convenient - I was a little concerned about the car getting stuck in the sand - but no problems as the sand is quite firm enough to park. The sand is good - white and clean - and the water itself... more

My wife and I visted Daytona in Sept. '08 and had a wonderful time, but the beach itself is only average. Driving on the beach is great, but at high tide, there is very little beach to enjoy. (At least in the northern part where we were.) The high tide also causes all of the sand to be packed down.... more

The Daytona Beach area beach is our favorite in Florida. Beautiful blue green water, soft sand and crashing waves, driving on parts of the beach, the birds, the hotels, all there is to do on the beach. Wish we could take part of it back to Indy. more

The beach was great. We stayed in the Daytona Beach Shores area. My husband and I would get up early, walk and watch the beautiful sunrise! It was fun watching the many different vehicles driving on the beach. Loved the ice cream truck! We were there June 2006 and the ice cream truck was playing Christmas music....that made me LOL.... more
