In my opinion, Daytona is one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast of Florida. It's a wonderful beach to walk, the sand is soft and silky, the surf is enticing.

Whether you drive or walk the beach it's a pleasant experience. Watch the shrimp boats drag off shore or take a trip down to one of the public beaches near Ponce Inlet to pick shells . This is a more commercial beach than I am accustomed to but it's a nice change . Not dirty like Atlantic City or Virginia... More

I always love to be on the beach, whether it is a pond, lake or ocean... there is just something about the view of the water and sound of the waves! On this day it was 48° and super windy, but still beautiful! Always be prepared for cooler weather along this part of the Atlantic Ocean, even during the summer... More

During low season (1st wk feb) everything is closed. It was an avg beach, and boardwalk is small. Had higher expectations for famous Daytona (probably bopping during spring break..). Best part of trip was free public restroom beside Boardwalk. Also, city great if you need a tacky Tshirt or leather bikes paraphernalia.

Its nice to be able to drive on to the beach and park and then walk 100 feet to get to the ocean. It gets really crowded and people tend to just throw there trash everywhere even though there are trash cans ever 100 feet or so. Would be great if the people going there would respect the beach a... Daytona was very clean and beautiful. The sand is packed harder than on most beaches but made it easy for walking on in the mornings to see the sunrise! They also have driving on the beach which was a new experience for us.

The beach is clean - great for sunning, fishing, walking, running, and driving. Cars are allowed during certain hours and in certain sections.

You can still drive on it but only in some sections, and it will cost you $10 for the day. I recommend staying a couple miles south of the main pier if your looking for a more natural and less crowded stretch of beach.
