We visited Daytona Beach in June 2006. This was not a nice place to visit. We stayed in the Daytona Beach Shores area. The pier was rundown. The lift chairs that took you out over the pier was rusted....couldn't pay me enough to get on those things. We walked out on the pier and it sure didn't look like what... more
The Daytona Beach Boardwalk is about only about 2 to 4 blocks long. It's attractions have come and gone over the years that included a ferris wheel, some virtual reality games and gyroscopes, bungee jumping, to the ever popular space needle and skyride down the pier. From chocolate dipped soft-serve sugar cones to ski ball, there is a lot of tradition to the boardwalk at Daytona Beach. Not a great deal has changed in many years and it is still as much fun as ever. Take at least one evening an visit the famous boardwalk. more
As the beachfront property changes and grows, this is a constant "old beach" attraction you must see. You can fish from the pier, browse the gift shop or enjoy a meal or snack indoors or out. There's a sightseeing tower and a sky ride, too. Newpaper articles on display document the effect of a hurricane on the pier! more
No matter what Hotel or Motel you stay at this is a "Don't Miss Attraction" Breathtaking, fun, awsome by evening and the fun and excitement observed and felt is unforgetable. Hopefully the big busisnesses will figure out this IS one Reason we travel to Datona. Not just for Races but for the wonder of the Ocean by night. Please, give... more
