Am a big fan of lighthouses. Have seen many pics of this, but saw up close today. Still actually working and spiffy and freshly painted. Very photogenic.

Nice little bit of history for the local area with an interesting look into a previous time. A great view from the top of the lighthouse, but certainly not for those out of shape! Well worth a visit and a few restaurants and a park nearby to make for a nice afternoon.

Interesting. They have the restored original houses and a fresnel lens (17ft high). A little bit of local history.

We enjoyed the tour including the video and old buildings. Especially interesting was the nature trails that surround the lighthouse.

We did not take the tour, but just stopped to take photos of the lighthouse and visit the gift shop. It is a pretty lighthouse and was not crowded. I did not feel pressured at all to take a tour or pay any money. The road is a one-way road out to the lighthouse, so it is the only way... More

It is an exceptional side trip. The view from the top of the lighthouse is amazing. Be sure you are in good shape to climb the 230 steps to the top.

Unexpected and fun side trip up the shore, nice place to walk around and read about history and other topics. Nice, short walking trail and great workout and amazing view at the top of the lighthouse. Totally would recommend taking an hour and so and visiting.

When we arrived it was rainy and the employees said it was slippery inside so we opted out of going in but if I returned I would go back. Nice surrounding area and a cute little gift shop. Visit the restrooms just to try out the sugar scrub. I came home with a jar after trying it out.

The gift shop pricing was high and didn't find the items were very interesting. When you pay they ask for donation to upkeep the lighthouse even though you have paid to see the lighthouse already.
