The area has been well kept and preserved. There are buildings on the land that are used as museums that house wonderful artifacts of the time and place. While the fees help with upkeep, it was a little pricey for what was offered. It was self guided for us, but would be nice if there were a few workers in... More

We visited on a dreary day and this was a perfect activity for the family. The kids were able to climb to the top, although I was not - if you have a fear of heights don't even try it. It is also close to the Marine Center and the two combined make a full day of family fun.

Beautiful spot. Wonderful exhibits. View from the top of the lighthouse is spectacular. Well worth a visit.

This was a very beautiful lighthouse, and other museums to visit there as well. It only cost $5 and you could access all day. Loved it!

The steps were many and steep. But the view at the top is worth the effort. The out buildings are all very interesting with artifacts and information about the light house and its golden era. I really liked the exhibit of the Fresnel lenses that have been restored and on display. The grounds and exhibits are all well taken care... More

This is our favorite lighthouse! We climbed to the top once and it had our legs shaking as we came back down. Well worth the exertion, however, for the views. They have a neat lighthouse lamp museum there as well.

We all love this Lighthouse not just because it's a lighthouse and its grounds but also that we can climb up! It was a pretty good climb but even our young child did it. The view was fantastic as well. There was a lot to see in the Lighthouse and its grounds. I like the houses the the staff used... More

Visiting this lighthouse, I can imagine life back in the 1800's where people depended on the light to guide their boats. Tranquil and beautiful setting.

A great Museum to Visit if you are in the area. Make sure to grab a scavenger hunt in the gift shop before you tour the museum. It's a great way to really look and explore the museum. Our family had fun looking for everything. Was an inexpensive attraction well worth the time! We were there about 2.5 hours in... More

Two-fer destination, forces the kids to LEARN on vaca (nice history), AND the views are excellent. Visited here a few years back -- then on the recent visit, my wife and I rented bikes and rode to it, only to return the next day with the kids. $5 p/p is not bad for experience.
