While staying in Daytona we decided to head down to Ponce Inlet to check out the lighthouse. You have to purchase tickets to tour the grounds and go up the lighthouse, but the tickets are cheap, and it was a self guided tour which we preferred. We headed straight for the lighthouse, and it is a little bit of a... More

Beautiful setting. Could not go up into lighthouse due to physical limitations, but the area and amenities were wonderful.

Must see if you have kids but be ready to pay for the trip to the top and many stairs. The view is worth it.

The next and even bigger challenge was the climb down. My son decided he couldn't do all the steps again so I... More

Nice view from the top. The stairs were... difficult. Going down was harder than going up! My children made me very nervous, maybe I am a nervous person, but I don't think we will ever be climbing a light house again.

The tallest light house in Florida. Also several other buildings to tour as well as exhibits including Cuban refugee "rafts" preserved for cultural understanding. A few outdoor restaurants nearby within walking distance as well as a water taxi to take you around and to historic New Smyrna Beach.
