Great place

This is a really natural place (after the gift shop)- beautiful plants and trees and the calls of the peacocks. Very relaxing. Go when it's cooler rather than the heat of summer.

A really nice botanical garden with magnificent oak trees throughout. Orchids and other flowers hidden where ever your eyes dance about. The peacocks are pretty cool too! Just watch for the signs telling you is peacock mating season. If you see the sign don't feed the peacocks as the males do become jealous and they have really long nails on... More

If you like a Zoo atmosphere, this is not the place to go. Some reviewers found it run down……I found it to be as natural as it can be in a controlled environment. My reason for going was to photograph the Flamingos. They did not disappoint. Many other birds are around you on land and in water. Peacocks will practically... More

If you're close to the area, it's definitely worth your time to stop by and spend a couple of hours admiring the beautiful trees, plants and wildlife here. My kids enjoyed all the different plant and animal life, and especially enjoyed feeding the flamingos! There is also some nice history to be had with the tour of the historical home... More

Flamingo Gardens was a relaxing and pleasant 1/2 day experience. It has appeal for all ages. A map highlighted activities (animal demonstration), places to visit (aviary, animals, Wray House, etc.) and gardens, special trees, etc. Flamingo Gardens had areas that were peaceful where you could really enjoy nature. The areas with animals had short stories posted that included information about... More

This is a great place to visit. The staff were helpful, friendly, and informed. Lots of plants, trees, animals to look at. Take the train around the park to start with, you will get the history. The flamingos were awesome as were the peacocks. Good value for the cost.

Flamingo Gardens consists of Botanical Gardens plus an Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary and arboretum. The Botanical Gardens "is a showcase for over 3000 species of rare and exotic, tropical, subtropical, and native plants." The Arboretum "contains some of the largest trees in the state of Florida." The Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary, their special feature, provides shelter for "permanently injured and non-releasable birds... More

We enjoyed this small park & had fun feeding the flamingos, koi, and birds in the avairy. The peacocks that roam around are beautiful! Admission is a bit pricy, but so are most placed that attract tourists.

My kids thoroughly enjoyed visiting Flamingo Gardens. It was nice to see what a good care is taken of the injured animals at this place. In addition to having the exotic animals they have beautiful exotic flowers, plants and trees throughout the garden. The show about the injured animals was educational and wonderful for the kids to learn.

I love the fact that it's a smaller botanical garden that doesn't require you to deal with large crowds to enjoy. I like to take photos, and Flamingo Gardens always seem to have something of interest. The Flamingo's are not always there as I learned. They are "Free to come and go" I was told by a work. Great alternative... More

Thank you for visiting and for sharing your experience. I do have to clarify one of your remarks, though. The Flamingos are always here. They are not free to come and go. Those are the White Ibis. They are wild birds and come everyday to be fed. The Flamingos are in their own habitat and do not ever leave the... More
