A friend and I had the most amazing experience with Bird's Underwater. We read through several reviews and companies and even considered GROUPON. Bird's Underwater had the most positive feedback so we booked with these guys. We were pleasantly surprised! We liked the fact how this company was honest in telling us we may not see Manatees, however would do... More

Captain John was awesome! Very knowledgable, as was the entire staff! Everyone is super friendly in the dive shop and eager to help. Marty is also great! At first, i was a little scared because the manatees are just so big when you first see them and the water was murky, but i quickly realized there was nothing to be... More

Staying in Tampa, woke up at 3:30 AM, drove 90 min, and had one of the best adventures of all time swimmin with manatees in their natural habitat. Thanks Capt Steve from finding so many, the education and for being a great host.

On other trip advisor recommendations we booked the 6:15am manatee snorkel tour. We weren't disappointed. Yes it's early but we were rewarded by a very lucky snorkel in crystal clear water and 5 friendly manatees. I can't say enough nice things about Dave our tour guide. He was interesting, friendly and rightfully so, very protective of the manatees. It was... More

The previous review gives a good summary of the quality of the tour. We were also with Cap'n Steve who did a great job in finding us some manatee at a difficult time of year. He was well informed and ensured that the tour did not disturb the animals. We also LOVED the 3 sisters springs. Beautiful clear pools of... More

Very knowledgeable about the area, the manatee, the laws regarding wildlife and it's always an all around great experience with them.. I've taken people who hate swimming out on Marty boat and they come... More

Our group visited on Friday, April 11 for a manatee snorkel and went out with Capt. Steve. The facility was nice, the rental equipment in good shape and the boat was clean. Birds was booked to capacity and took out several boats at 6 a.m., although the crowd was handled well and didn't seem like we were cattle in a... More

The staff was very friendly, we got to see a few manatees, the guide said it was starting to warm up and they were moving out to warmer water away from the springs. It was really cool to see them up close. Our guide was very informative and she was really excited about preservation of the manatees. We booked it... More

We had trouble booking a tour with 2 other companies, but Birds took our party of three with open arms and we hand an amazing time! A clean boat, beautiful shop, great gifts, quality dry gear, and a kind, accommodating staff made the perfect day even better. We saw at least 10 manatees and swam with them of over 1... More
