With captain Mike approx. 3 hour searching for Manatees was an amazing experience! He took all the time for us and we tried several places. We where there during the day (1pm) so then you have already less change for finding them. But Mike knows the rivers by heart and he was able to find some. When we went into... More

What a great morning we had snorkeling with the manatees! Captain Steve was an awesome guide and explained a lot, let us take our time observing the manatees and made an awesome cup of hot cocoa! We picked a great week to go. The temperature dropped so there was 20-30 manatees at Three Sisters and it wasn't roped off yet... More

My brother and I dived at the end of October. Very cool weather in the 7am dive outside the boat, so we tried as much as possible to stay in the water and it paid off. The captain chose good places to interact with the Manatees. In total we saw almost 20 different adults, 1 young and 2 babies. One... More

When booking a Manatee tour, you'll likely find competitors that offer tours too. I'm sure they're just fine, but there's something to be said about supporting your local dive shops. Birds is a first-rate dive shop owned by a world-class cave diver. Book here and make sure and do the early tour! I can't emphasize that enough... Do the early... More

We went on the 6 AM tour with Capt. Steve Browning. He was very informative and helped us have a great experience! He pointed out in which directions we should swim to see manatees and was telling us facts as we went along. Many of the manatees swam right up to us and even rolled over for belly rubs. He... More

I had snorkeled with manatees more than 10 years ago. I went with Birds Underwater then, too. When I had a chance to take S I wanted to go with the same folks. They are great. The captains are very sensitive to the animals and the laws to protect them. They are also attentive to the experience of the patrons.... More

First off, wanted to start off by saying what a great guide Mike was at Birds Underwater! He definitely knew every question I asked and was very kind. He has a great personality and joked about things and made the trip a blast! We got there for the 6 am trip. They had all the right supplies for safety and... More

My brother chose Bird's Underwater for our swim with the manatees because he said they were the original outfitters for this experience. We went on the earliest time slot (6:30 am or thereabouts) and we were very happy with the way the trip went. Before going out on the boats, we had to attend a briefing and watch a short... More

We ended up at Bird's due to a miscommunication with another company but ended up thinking we got lucky! Captain Mike was amazing with all of his knowledge and helpful nature during the entire trip. He found 3 manatees for us to swim with and took us on a nice snorkel visit to Three Sisters springs.
