Beautiful walkway to the pier lined with palms, great beach for kids the waters were not rough, sand was okay. Would visit again. Bathrooms were clean! There are a lot of birds but if you don't feed them they stay away

Good stretch of artificial beach with white sand on the Gulf of Mexico with minimal surf. In March the water was chilly, but it should be a nice place to swim soon. I wish we'd brought beach chairs. We lay in the sun, ate a picnic lunch, drank beer discreetly, and waded the shore. Lots of shore birds, but they... More

This is a lovely spot! I got to birdwatch (black skimmers, sanderlings, dunlins, terns, gulls) while the kids played in the sand. There is a neat little boardwalk from the beach to the pier that winds through the trees.

great spot for meditating. Free access and good facilites for changing and also restrooms.. Clean. Shallow water but that's the way it is down there.. Was cordoned off for safety as there were no lifeguards. Very clean beach and great for exploring as there is a lot of birdlife.. Great quiet getaway with no crowds

Small beach in the boondocks with nothing around, kind of creepy if you are there by yourself. I suppose if you are with a group it would be ok, I only stayed 5 minutes, there was one man in the water with a metal detector and myself, so I got back in the car and left

My wife and I stopped here one afternoon during our recent stay in Crystal River. Your experience with Fort Island Trail Beach will be fully predicated on your desires and what you're seeking. This park offers a small beach on the Gulf of Mexico, a decent boat launch ramp, a fishing pier, and a short boardwalk through a wooded area.... More

Took kids there last March for spring break while visiting grandparents, this was the first time for them seeing the ocean and they thought it was Awesome. They loved running up and down the shoreline as far as they could see, gathering shells and seeing all kinds different birds that we don't get up in Mn, water was a bit... More

It's the only beach for miles and it's nice - quite small like a European beach which makes a change from the miles and miles of characterless beaches so prominent in the US. It has good toilets, beach shower, tables and chairs under shelters for picnics, boardwalk/fishing pier, a boat ramp a few hundred feet away and a vendor today... More

I guess the whole area here has no beaches so they created this one and got a lot of sand here. The sand near the water is pretty much full of poo from all the 1000s of birds and gulls flying around. The water also looked not very clean and here and there poo dirt, so we rather decided for... More
