Discovered it a year ago when I moved to the Miami area. I've been there at least once a week, sometimes after a film at the Coral Gables Art Cinema across the street, often for meetings, sometimes just to sit and enjoy some wine and food, listen to jazz on Friday evenings, or just to chill

A Coral Gables Icon. Not your regular book store but a place to spend time, have a bite, sip some wine, meet nice people and read or but a host of books you won't find anywhere else.

Within winding stacks, a couple of snacky places and plenty of places to sit and read, Books & Books feels lack the last genuine oasis of the physically printed written word. Offering are comprehensive with plenty of Spanish language titles, large coffee table books and related materials (notebooks, etc.). in short, well worth the trip out to Coral Gables and... More

Very pretty for a bookstore. Nice to browse and have a nice lunch while there. They are constantly having book signings both day and night. There is even a section where you can get already signed books without having to wait in lines and at no additional cost. Everyone should check it out. A little off the beaten path of... More

Nice oldfashioned bookstore with slightly musky smell to it, Book selection was large enough, even unusual, with books which would make a book enthusiast's mouth water. There is a small cafe in the bookstore for customers to think over their purchases.

I would not have thought of this location for a reunion luncheon spot but because of a friend we met 9 other friends for a memorable reunion luncheon and the food was as stimulating as the environment. Everyone ordered something different and all were satisfied. Independent bookstores are treasures and this one is not to be missed if this is... More

At a time when it is so easy to buy books on line, I love that Books and Books has been able to thrive in the heart of Coral Gables. Not only is the store packed with a wonderful selection of books, but the rooms are warm and inviting. The ambiance, the café and wonderful staff make it easy to... More

Mitchell Kaplan has been able to thrive amid the chaos of the big boys and his reputation and the quality of the selections has been a mainstay in the Gables for as long as I can remember

Lovely, friendly independent bookstore with idyllic garden cafe in its courtyard. Good selection of books, especially on art. I owe them a review because I was gauche enough to accidentally use my amazon.com credit card to buy a book! The clerk blanched but remained very friendly. By all means check this place out--skip the generic Barnes & Noble on the... More
