We live in West Palm Beach, about 1 1/2 hours from the University of Miami campus, home to the Lowe Art Museum. We were particularly interested in a current, special exhibition by Stephen Knapp, an American artist best known as the creator of Lightpaintings. We had seen his work for sale at one of the major art shows in West... More

Well presented art and helpful staff. Collection is small with many of the works "attributed" or "school of..". But nonetheless very interesting. Note that unless one wants student food there is nowhere to eat nearby.

We enjoyed all the art on display. It's quite an eclectic collection, but no less interesting for that. The collection of glass pieces is particularly good.

This is an absolute gem of a small art gallery! I went primarily to view the paintings and was not disappointed. A small, but beautiful collection on display. Exhibits some delightful early religious art, as well as a small number of impressionist / post-impressionist through to more modern pieces. Further, there are some amazing collections of other art categorised by... More

We visited Lowe Art Museum on Tuesday, and discovered it was "pay what you want" day. Beautiful building, interesting Christo exhibit, and average-interest permanent collection. Watch out for the broken parking meters in their small lot!

Before leaving Miami we took a couple of hours to visit the Lowe Art Museum on the campus of University of Miami. The Palley Pavilon for contemporary glass and studio arts was what interested us and it did not dissappoint. The exhibit was beautiful and so well done. The way that items were displayed allowed for 360 degree viewing. The... More

The Lowe Art Museum is a real standout among university art musteums. The real showpiece is the Palley Pavillion which contain many works by some of the finest American glass artists. The museum's collection is quite eclectic including American, European, African, Chinese, Japanese, and Indian art. The museum also currently hosts an exhibit of art of Christo and Jeane-Claude, largely... More

I like the Lowe because while it's not a huge museum, it's easy to navigate and always interesting and has good exhibits. Unless there is an exhibit for kids they will probably find it boring. Before you go check what exhibits are available, museum hours and costs as they vary.

In a town -- Miami! -- that is daily growing in artistic riches, the Lowe Art Museum is the mother of them all! Located on the University of Miami Coral Gables campus, it's the only museum down here that embraces 5,000 Years of Art! Lots of local privately-owned galleries and museums have interesting collections; some, like MAM, not so much!... More

As a student, I am so pleased to have such a dignified and extensive art museum right on campus. The collections are constantly changing so that I can go back every few months to see something new and the galleries that do not rotate are exquisite. I can honestly say I'm very proud of our museum. It also attracts lots... More
