Its probably more like a lagoon then, a beach..its a really nice place if you have children that aren't quite old enough to experience south beach...nice quiet laid back atmosphere, we had a pretty good time. ..

Spent many a day here with my children over the years! Great place for families and play dates! Worth the park fee to enter! Can be hard to find parking on busy weekends so always stuck to week days. A favorite stop after school pick up! Wonderful restaurant, Red Fish, as well! Beautiful views! Just watch out for the raccoon's!

Matheson Hammock is a family safe park with a safe swimming area for the kids and an area to take water lessons, such as sailing, windsurfing...etc. A marina is near by and a full service good restaurant as well.

A quite park away from busy metro city. $5 entry ticket! which was worth it. Easy parking on weekdays. This is a great park to spend a dag with your family especially when you have little kids. Park had a little beach which is very shallow, 5 feet max (I guess). This is man made beach. For some reason it's... More

Matheson Hammock State Park with its unique salt water lagoon, surrounded by huge sandy beaches and natural mangroves is one of the best kept natural secrets left in the Metro Miami area. I remember going as a kid and enjoying both the tranquil lagoon and the adjacent beach, where you could walk out to sea for what seemed like miles... More

We (a group of 6 people) visited over Memorial Day weekend... We understand that there were a lot of people but, it is unacceptable that the bathrooms were so filthy!!!! It was disgusting! Urine everywhere, mix with pieces of toilet paper, garbage, ugh! ALL trash cans were to the top... ¿What's going on? Every car pays $6 to enter the... More

Matheson Hammocks Park is one of South Miami's great little secrets. It's a public park, filled with lots of activities, beautiful landscapes and even an atoll beach. For a couple of bucks, you can park all day and enjoy the many water activities this park has to offer. Location: Off Cutler Road, next to Fairchild Tropical Gardens Parking: Park outside... More

I am not sure if this should be called a beach !! It's a nice place but it's rather a park not a beach .... A nice pool though for kids. I just have to mention that you will cross through one of the wonderful streets in the world with exotic trees all through it to reach to the place... More

My husband went to kiteboard and I sat on the beach. The atoll was really neat the way they had it blocked off and the view was great of the Miami skyline.
