My husband went to kiteboard and I sat on the beach. The atoll was really neat the way they had it blocked off and the view was great of the Miami skyline.

Stopped at this spot on our way back from Key West to grab some beach time. Very busy, but enjoyable time. Haven't been here since 1974!

The best part of the Hammock is lying or sitting on the grass near the pond or under the trees. It is quiet and you can see birds and wildlife while listening to the breeze through the Royal Palms and ficus trees. There is no fee for this part of the Hammock--if you want to go to the Marina and... More

I remember going there as a kid, when we didn't wanna drive all the way to MB. Matheson has a nice litle mini "beach" for kids and a long paved bike path that floowos the paved road in, away from the cars. You can picnic, there's a nice restaurant and many folks wind surf. We also ride off road down... More

beach was awesome. only 5 dollars to park. good place to bring your hammock and enjoy a quiet afternoon in the sun by the ocean. Lifegaurds are on duty and this pool is enclosed, yet part of the ocean. good place to bring kids!

Before we visited Miami we were told to try this "beach". We were told it was beautiful, a view of Miami and other areas, a marina, warm tide pool that would be great for children, free of creatures that might pinch. Well, I may be a beach snob but this, sirs, is no beach! And I hope no one is... More

We loved sitting here in the park and there is a small beach with a lagune for children. Its an easy swim in the ocean, very shallow, and the view of miami and key biscayne is breathtaking This is something where locals come so it's very serene and no touristy crowds

The drive around the park was beautiful, large mangroves, ocean views, city views, walking trails, picnic areas and place for swimming in natural large round sea pool surrounded by sand and palms, great place for sunsets, worth the visit, great restaurant with view of Miami

During the winter months in Miami, Matheson is a fantastic and beautiful place to ride your bike, and/or take scenic walks. It has a great bike path between the mangroves, and this tie of year is mosquito free. The light comes thru the mangroves and adds a delightful beautiful feeling thru the path. It opens up on the bay, with... More

I lived in Miami and Matheson Hammock has been a favorite of mine. I go there every year I go back to Miami. It has a swimming atoll with a path encircling it lined with coconut palms, and looks like a photo from Fiji or some other South Seas island. You can see the skyline of Miami and if you... More
