Combined with state of the art equipment, comfortable amenities and world class entertainment, it's no wonder that it has been recognized as one of Tampa Bay's best concert halls numerous times as well as a finalist for Pollstar's Theater of the Year twice. In 2003, the Hall's audience chamber received a complete refurbishment, its 2,180 seats were reconfigured to accommodate more patrons with disabilities, and lobby and restrooms were expanded.Ruth Eckerd Hall has continental-style seating. Almost every patron prizes a center seat and continental-style provides the maximum possible. There are no support columns, no obstructed views. Seating is sloped and staggered. For safety and comfort, the aisle space is wider than traditional layouts; entry and exit can be made while patrons remain seated. There are 14 sets of double doors leading out from the audience chamber. With this configuration, a full house can be cleared in a matter of minutes.Among the original community leaders who conceptualized building a performing arts center this side of Tampa Bay, was Jack Eckerd. During construction, Mr. Eckerd designated a significant contribution as a birthday gift to his beloved wife, Ruth, making the dream a reality. The Hall proudly bears her name. « less

Ruth Eckerd Hall has to one of the best places in Florida to see a show. The venue is very easy to get to and parking has never been a problem. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. There isn't a bad seat in the place and the acoustics are tremendous. So many great performers have played here with many more to... More

We loved this place. Sound is awesome, easy access, free parking, friendly staff, and so very pretty! If you get a chance to see a show here, take advantage of the opportunity.

A relatively small arena, with small but comfortable seating. You can drink beverages at your seat. Not all that good for concerts, as there is no floor for standing/demonstrating. Plenty of parking.

I have heard this group today and they are awful. Don't waste your time or money. Small group is weak in bass and soprano. Director seems to favor family and friends. There last piece is a nineteen minute Te Deum where the soprano is nice, not as full bodied, as the piece would suggest. The alto doesn't show up(friend) the... More

We went to see a show celebrating Broadway songs. The theater is huge as was the free car park. The acoustics in the theater were fabulous and surpassed anything we have recently seen in the west end in London. There were 5singers all who had been in Broadway shows. Their voices were amazing and the clarity and emotion was very... More
