Sand key park is the place to go in Clearwater! Its not as busy as Clearwater beach and has everything you could possibly want, picnic tables with bbq grills, clean restrooms, fishing, a dog park, a playground for the kiddies and the beach of course. Swimming here is great! But the most beautiful thing is the sunset, just gorgeous! They... More

I love Sand Key Park!! It stands in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Clearwater Beach. If you're into the whole tourist thing, you'll enjoy Clearwater, but if you prefer the quiet, calmness with room to move, then visit Sand Key!! Sand Key is a county park which features a few shelters and grills a bit away from... More

Wonderful afternoon on the beach during early October. Quite a few folk but far from crowded, the sand is white, but has many crushed sea shells which can be 'prickly' to walk on, however once in the sea it's much better underfoot. The car park has space for 700 ( $5 for the day ), the loos have changing facilities... More

Sand Key Park is a 90 acre beach park located in Pinellas County, the most densely populated county in Florida. It is an urban oasis with it's half mile wide beach on the gulf. There is also a trail system in the interior of the park that winds through the native flora and fauna once common in west-central Florida. One... More

Very nice beach for families. It has a strict no alcohol policy. Ample parking space and very clean bathrooms. The water and sad is typical of Clearwater area, beautiful white sand, green waters. Very little sea-weed in this area. But besides the beach there is nothing more here, no board-walk, no pier. So recommended only if you want to enjoy... More

Shells, shells, and more good shells. Clear water, not many people. Recommend water shoes. A must see in the area, especially for kids.

This county park/beach is just down the road from the crowded Clearwater /Pier 60 beach but you would think it was world's away. A Saturday afternoon and there were just handfuls of people of this stretch of beach. Easy parking and only $5.00 for the entire day with in and out privileges. Bathrooms were pretty clean for a public beach.... More

A lovely clean beach. Not many people but we went slightly out of season. Waters were 86 degrees. Worried about stingrays as there were signs warning people about them lurking in the sands, though didn't see any. Abundant birdlife- pelicans, egrets, waders etc. Birds being fed around the waters edge. Was a bit like being part of a wildlife programme.... More

My husband and I went there on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't very crowded. There was a $5.00 parking fee, which wasn't so bad cause we were there for a good portion of the day. In my opinion, the sand wasn't the best (this could be because I was at Clearwater the day before and the... More

I'm not a big fan of the beach, but I enjoyed this beach because of all the birds! There were several different types so it made for a wonderful picture taking session! The sand was also nice to walk on. It also wasn't too crowded when we went.
