This is not your typical aquarium! This is a rescue and rehabilitation center for local marine life. When an animal is injured or sick, it is rescued, cared for and then released into the wild. The ones that can not survive in the wild stay at the aquarium. The place is very small but has a lot to offer. I... more

Interesting aquarium, not very big and a bit overpriced but keeping in mind that their mission is to rescue and rehab, it's worth at least a first visit. We were given wrong information when we made the reservation for the Sea Life Safari boat tour so double check what you're told and get the name of the person you are... more

Clearwater Marine Aquarium has rescued sea animals. They have animal shows. Dolphins, sea turtles, otters, stingrays, and other sea fish. It is a small place compared to Ripley's Aquarium, but much cheaper and actually is interesting. You can see the animals in displays from above or under. You can touch the stingrays. They have interesting stories about how the animals... more

There are a couple of places on the Gulf Coast - like Mote Marine in Sarasota. This is not really an aquarium, but a rehab facility. If you are thinking this will be like Sea World, you are mistaken. It has animals that have been rescued and are being taken care of. We went through the whole thing in less... more

This was by far the worst stop of our trip. This aquarium is very small and extremely over priced. 3 year old who loves aquariums did not care at all for this.We will never visit this aquarium again more

We got free tickets to this "aquarium" from our resort. After nearly a one-hour drive we were a bit disappointed at what we found. The place is small-ish and not extremely well kept. The under water observation window at the dolphin tank was leaking and had a towel in the window to sop up the water. Strange. However, the staff... more

We just returned from an Orlando trip. We have three small girls all under five. One day at Disney just wore everyone out. We took another day to drive over to Clearwater and the Aquarium. I have so much great stuff to say! First, it is very hands on. Petted dolphins, turtles, stingrays. The girls loved it. We took the... more

We visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium this month June 2009. It is a smallish place and quite low-key but it is really great. We bought the combo ticket which included a 2 hour boat trip, on which we saw numerous dolphins swimming alongside the boat. The aquarium is fairly small but they make the most of the space and have... more
