This is a fantastic display, but how about some large signs that tell you which rocket is which and when it flew? This would be my suggestion to improve the rocket garden. You get to see this exhibit with your general admission ticket.

This is part of your Ickes to Kennedy space center. At first you may walk around this display and it will have little impact. But I suggest you take your time walk the garden and read the placards. Here you will find a history of US rocketry related to manned space flight,

It is not as extensive as the one at Huntsville but still a nice display. It is well kept and within a short walking distance of the park entrance, Exploration Hall and the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit.

This is a great way to prepare you for your KSC visit. Impressive rockets surround you and give history about the space program. This is also a great spot for photos, but don't spend too much time here or you'll run out of time to see all the other fascinating exhibits at the Center.

Seeing various types of rockets. And because we visited on Dec. 31, 2014 (not just because of us :)) they made a light show which was very nice.

It was well worth looking through the rocket garden to get the background of space exploration, before moving on to the newer stuff. Free guided tour well worth tagging on to.

Great part of space centre complex, you can climb in some of the capsules, and a lovely place to take photos

An outdoor exhibit that let's you walk through and admire the different rockets used in the past. One of the first things you see when entering the Space Center.

A nice variety of rockets from different eras of the space program are exhibited here. It's like walking through a timeline of different space launches and programs.

An interesting assortment of rockets all together, standing up like trees. Right inside the park, can't miss
