This park is named Manatee Sanctuary because it borders a section of the Banana River that serves as a protected Manatee habitat. While we cannot guarantee that you will see a manatee during your visit, these beautiful creatures have been known to come and feed off the sea grass along the boardwalk. Manatees enjoy warm waters and typically move to inland springs during the winter months. They are considered an endangered species and fall under highly protective legislation. To learn more about these amazing animals, including where to see them year round, please visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website.

well, there were no manatees to be seen here, though it is a small, quiet, clean park. I'm not mad about it, but I really would've liked a glimpse at a manatee in its natural habitat. I saw a few elderly ppl walking and using the exercise stations and this seems to be the main use of the park. Up... More

A free park to walk or enjoy wildlife. We saw mostly birds and didn't get to see any manatees, but it was worth the quick stop. It is very close to the port.

A quiet and well maintained city park with a lovely view. There are a few stations for exercises for senior citizens. We didn't see any manatees but saw the fin of a dolphin.

Stopped by on a sunny day to see what the park was about. It is a small, very nicely kept park where apparently Mantees can be spotted when the weather is right. It's a great place for a stroll, a picnic or just some quiet time reading a book. Cost is "FREE", so that's a bonus

This is one of the real treasures in Cape Canaveral. It is a lovely city park right on the Banana River. The park is well maintained and so clean. The views are expansive. And you can catch a glimpse of dolphins and occasionally a manatee swimming along this part of the intercoastal waterway. There are picnic benches where you can... More

It was a quick stop we made on a whim. Glad we did. We did not see any manatees but it was a nice walk and had beautiful statues of the Manatees and Sea Turtles with interesting facts for the kids (and adults) about the sea life.

I didn't see any. I talked to many people...some of them had come three times and had not seen any either. The park is nice and clean though.

This is a great little park that we found that was very clean and well kept. We went to see the manatees but none to be found. However, we did have luck spotting some birds, including white ibis, cormorant and a loggerhead shrike on a wire. it was a nice walk around the premises. There are also exercise stations.
