Follow the paths

This is a great park to walk and see some wildlife. There is a stream running through the park and paths for an easy stroll.

Parking and access to the trail is available in Alapocas Run State Park (fee). The start point for this guide is at the Blue Ball Barn off of East Park Drive. The main trail follows the Northern Delaware Greenway. The trail is paved until you enter into the woods and then it becomes gravel. The trail enters the wooded area... More

I walk through Alapocas Park at least weekly (except in winter). It has a bit of everything: outdoor picnics, playground for little ones, playing fields for local teams, paths through ancient trees and streams, cliffs with rock climbing, streams and rivers with waterfalls, meadows with wild flowers, adjacent golf course, Blue Ball museum, and more. Moreover it is on the... More

Rock climbing at the park is pretty awesome. You can climb up on the side and anchor from the top. It has several anchor spots with different difficulties.

The trails are well groomed with varying degrees of steepness. I take my dog with me - and he gets a good work out. The parking is easily accessible. But stay on the paths - there are copperhead snakes.

I walk/run here every day I can. Love the parts, trails, athletic fields, can=do park for handicapped children. etc etc. We are so lucky to have this wonderful park, golf course, fields and trails so close to where we live. LOVE IT

I have been a few times as part of a photo hike and I participated in their first of the year hike for 2014. It has some nice paths and is a peaceful woodsy place. There are some old interesting structures from the now defunct Bancroft Mill. There is also a wall that is used for rock climbing but I... More

Tried to find this park while visiting town with my dog. My GPS could not locate it and the local signs ended somewhere short of the actual park Drove around the neighborhood for 1/2 hour trying to find it, then left.

It was incredibly hard to figure out where to access this park from, and where to park. We went to the park headquarters, it was fenced in and closed. The signs were confusing. We ended up leaving the car parked in front of a house in a neighborhood, and walking up to "blue Bell Barn" ( I think that was... More
