This is a fascinating place to learn about some key members of the family who built one of the greatest companies in the world, the now 213 years old venerable DuPont Company. Alfred DuPont was brilliant, innovative, generous man. He and his cousins managed to save the company from a takeover. The mansion and gardens are gorgeous. A must see... More

This is a not to be missed attraction for anyone visiting the Brandywine Valley. The house and furnishings are beautiful. Our guide (for our group of three) was very knowledgeable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The gardens are also very engaging and well worth seeing.

My wife and I took the garden and mansion Nemours tour. We did the gardens at 10 AM (important to do the gardens in the summer morning). Our mansion tour was at 12 noon. The gardens are the largest French gardens in the USA. Incredible flowers, statues, trees and structures in this beautiful setting. The mansion was unique. We have... More

This was a very special place and a great find! Plan to spend 2 1/2 hours on this tour and weather permitting you can also walk through the beautiful garden areas as well. This house tour was top notch and well worth the $15 admission. The history given by your guide as you walk through this mansion is very informative... More

Hubby and I went to Nemours this weekend for the first (and last) time. I bought our tickets on line the morning before we went down to Nemours. We had a 2 hour drive to get there and didn't want to arrive to find out the tour was filled. It would have been cheaper if I just called the place... More

We finally made our reservations to see this beautiful duPont property after years and years of passing this on our way to wherever. (By the way, MAKE RESERVATIONS!!! If you show without a reservation, and you are turned away, you cannot blame the staff.) The mansion itself is gorgeous and has so many interesting pieces and paintings displayed. We have... More

Get a trip to France without crossing the Atlantic. Nemours Mansion and Gardens is a wonderful example of French architecture and landscape. Formal French gardens with ponds, fountains, sculptures, flowers are beautifully landscaped. Mansion and gardens are well preserved and maintained. Tours are available but reservations have to be made in advance. Very informative, interesting and very well organized tours... More

Very intimate tours. Excellent docent. Interesting family history. After the mansion tours it was wonderful to be able to stroll the gardens and just imagine the life they had. The walk through the gardens was lovely. He left quite a legacy with the Children's hospital.

Absolutely beautiful mansion and estate. The tour was very well done and quite extensive. Loved hearing the story of Alfred Du Pont. Nemours is a must see in Wilmington! Actually liked it better than Versailles.
