If you enjoy history and mansions, this is a place to not be missed. Plan on 2 1/2 hours for a visit here. MAKE A RESERVATION AHEAD OF TIME BY CALLING THE OFFICE OR ON LINE!! The tour starts with a 15 minute movie followed by a mini bus ride to the mansion, home of Alfred Dupont, one of our... More

Reservations are required & limited, so don't wait till the last minute to reserve a spot. We arrived at the visitor center and were taken by bus to the mansion. Tour guides take groups of 5 through 36 rooms of the 77 room mansion. If you want to stay together with your own group then you might want to place... More

This is an easy place to find. I recommend strongly ordering your tickets online and having them available for will-call pickup at the visitor's center as some tour hours sell out quickly in advance. The visitor's center has an interesting timeline interspersing world events with du Pont family events. There are a few items for sale such as postcards, a... More

The best - were all the features in the mansion that DuPont installed for comfort and ease of maintenance. For early 1900s, this man was an advanced thinker. Unlike many large, richly furnished mansions, this one see,ed warm and friendly - a place I would enjoy living.

If you can't afford to go to Versailles in France, this is the next best thing. Unbelievable elegance, priceless museum pieces, fabulous display of wealth. Alfred du Pont was not the luckiest of men in life but this mansion and gardens are amazing.

This place is amazing. The tour is one of the best we have ever been on. The docents are very knowlegable and friendly. We came with a large group and it was handled wonderfully. We were broken into small groups. We were never rushed and ther was plenty of time for questions. This place is a must if you are... More

Nemours is gorgeous: both indoors and outdoors. The Visitor Center does a good job of orienting visitors to the history of the Dupont family with a terrific historical timeline and an informative video that provides not only the historical facts, but also a sensitive and appreciative assessment of the man who built this splendid place for a woman he loved.... Beautiful mansion and formal French gardens. No pictures allowed inside the house, but books are available for purchase. Living there would have been a blast!

Very beautifull mansion, small tour groups, beautifull garden. We were welcomed as guests and shown the whole mansion. Tour group size was no bigger than 6.

Love this place and especially the gardens. Truly a place to escape from the rush of today's busy schedules and enjoy the peace of the gardens.
