I grew up nearby, but now only visit for euphoric recall. In the winter, best hill for sledding. Fall-great folliage. Anytime, good place to walk or run ( in HS, this was our cross-country running course of 2.3 miles). Don't miss the view from the top of the tower, as well as Mt. Salem United Methodist Church.

There are three tours a day, with a max number, so I can't emphasize enough to arrive with your reservation, or you will likely be turned away. It's well worth it! This mansion and garden is a mini Versailles, gorgeous. Be sure to add to yor Brandywine Valley trip. We did Nemours along with Winterthur, Hagley, and Longwood Gardens over... More

After 30 years of living in Delaware, I finally got to go to the Wilmington Flower Market. I had wanted to check out the Rockford Tower for a long time. It really was built as a water tower but the stairs that curve around it inside the stone wall are not very steep and once on top, there's a broad... More

Lots to do here - walking, running, biking, softball/baseball field, picnic areas, dog park, basketball court...I love this area of Wilmington. Quiet and beautiful to just sit with your thoughts.

This park is fabulous and just plain beautiful. When I was a kid growing up in Wilmington I used to ride my bike to this park. The tower was open and running up the steps to the top was great fun.

Since I lived within walking distance of Rockford Park for many years, this area is like home to me. The grounds around the tower once belonged to a great grandfather of my husband and the family had lots of tales to tell about it. The land was originally deeded to the city as a place for city dwellers to visit... More

Pretty old historic water tower is worth a peak. Nice park for joggers & walkers. They have a fairly large off lease dog park! Picnic tables & a summer concert series. Near some of the prettiest & grandest homes in Wilmington!
