Pretty little park with a dock that is popular with fishermen. The cannon is a favorite of my kids. Interesting local historic spot! You must pay to park in the lot, as it is near downtown Lewes shopping. (There is free parking further down the canal by the ball field, if you don't mind walking a bit.)

Stopped by this little canal front park the other day to sit & relax while we passed some time (waiting for our table at a downtown restaurant). The park is tiny. It is mostly a bricked path/patio with a few patches of grass. There are a few benches that line the canal so you can watch the boats cruise up... More

Small little park. Shaded, parking nearby, boats along the water. Seat down and rest. From there you can walk through the town of Lewes, short walk and no hills.

not even the public parking lot can take away the beauty of the 1812 Park and canal. Check out the cannons, Lewes in Bloom floral displays and Front Street shops. Great way to sit back and relax.

Quiet small park in the center of town with an authentic War of 1812 cannon. Benches for just sitting and relaxing, and watching the boat traffic on the water. Fun stop for a rest when shopping, or touring the historical places in town.

Sit and watch the boats traversing the canal. Read a book or just lay back and relax. Have your picture taken on a cannon. Imagine fighting off the British during the war of 1812 Read the historical plaques and imagine. This is where history happened.

Just across from the Cannonball house is this little park, and why not make the few short steps over to admire this small park?

Beautifully manicured, historically informative and just calming. I enjoyed a couple of dusky walks with my wife through the park and along the canal. The first town in the first state starts here.

So much thought went into this and for a small town park we were very impressed. Lewes is lovely street after street. We will be back.
