Great free little beach. Go to the Surf Shanty on Kings Highway, rent an Umbrella for $5 bucks! It is very clean, safe beach. Restaurants are plenty too!

Lewes, Delaware is a historic town with a great deal to offer relative to history and dining. The beach is really fronting the Delaware river bay so you do not get a sense of the ocean with big waves. To the right is the place where the Cape May Ferry leaves Delaware aiming for New Jersey. To experience the ocean... More

Surprisingly less crowded and quite beautiful. We went a pleasant weather day and spent the entire day there. Only problem was the parking lot. We had to keep repaying to add time.

Awesome beach. Hit Cape Henelopen state park - the beach has great surfing waves! Very cool town as well - great restaurants. Rent an umbrella from the Lewes Surf Shanty on ur way. Awesome place.

Enjoyed the small size and family atmosphere this beach had to offer. It is nice, quiet, and simplistic. The meters are a hassle and you have to remember your time!

Coarse sand, steep, and good ocean exposure. What's not to like? Sorry, but Jersey beaches are better.

I liked this beach. Quite, clean and good for fishing! You can drive near the beach, park for free and enjoy the beach for free. there are lots of cottage houses around the beach...

Great place without the under current, great for younger children, state park services, parking fees, Dairy Queen close by, and nice sandy beach where you can watch the ferry come and go to Cape May, NJ! Enjoy!

It's a calm nice place to drop your towel and let the kids play. Very family orientated and Dairy Queen walking distance is a plus. Remember to bring your quarters for parking. Enjoy

Lewes Beach has a mild surf and is perfect for families with children. The paid parking lot fills up quickly so plan to get to the beach early. Restrooms with showers are provided but beware they are old and there is usually a line for the shower. Dairy Queen is a short walk away when you get hungry.
