This is a great little beach - actually bigger than I remembered. It isn't loud and crowded like Rehobeth and the water is flat calm which makes it much better for swimming, especially for people who aren't comfortable with crashing waves. There's a Dairy Queen across the street and the best ice-cream ever just down the road in the old... More

we spent two days at the beach. the first was in an area without lifeguards, it was nice and relaxing. the second was in the more populated area, still, despite the crowds, this was a relaxing beach!

They are lacking many parking spots. The lifeguards here are very friendly. The beach is accessible to Dairy Queen.

We love taking the kids to this beach. It is on the bay, so the waves are tiny. Sometimes there are no waves and other times just tiny waves. If you are there on a low tide, you can walk out pretty far before you reach knee-deep. And often you will find sandbars or little islands form. This is great... More

With so many other beaches around this beach is just what the title said. It is good if you have limited time to go to a clean beach, convenient to town.

The beach is clean and though there can be a lot of people during peak season, it is a wonderful location and not as overcrowded as Bethany.

Our only complaint with Lewes Beach is that it isn't closer to Wilmington! Though you could argue that a one-and-a-half hour drive isn't all that bad. All that aside, it is a great place to visit in the summer. Nice clean surroundings, the water is quiet and ideal for kids to play in. No mad crowds and the area isnt... More
