Heading South from the Northern NJ / NYC area, The Garden State Parkway, the ferry, and the trip down the DelMarVa peninsula beats the big turnpikes hands down. The relaxing ferry ride is almost worth the effort alone. Be prepared to see Dolphins frolicking in the water.

We had a terrific first experience with the ferry over Memorial Day weekend. Very pleasant ride and it made our last minute beach excursion possible.

Seems obvious, right? If you are going to make the decision to take the ferry you will get the most out of it by sitting up on the top deck or open deck areas. Granted some people prefer to sit inside, but if I am gonna take a ferry I want to be outside and enjoy the view. The inside... More

This is a great care free way to travel between Delaware and New Jersey. Even before I moved to the Eastern Shore I would come to Lewes to take the ferry over to Cape May so I could go to Atlantic City. It is clean, efficient and very relaxing. Plenty of comfortable seating. Nice concessions and friendly staff.

Taking the Cape May-Lewes Ferry on our trip to Cape May was the best thing we could have done. It was affordable, fast and we even got to see quite a few dolphins.

We've taken this ferry many times during good and/or foul weather and we have never been disappointed. The views are fantastic combined with the birds and dolphins. The staff has always been pleasant and accommodating. I would be sure to make reservations during heavy travel times, i.e. summer, holiday weekends, etc. Check their website as times can vary through different... More

We decided to take a day trip from Lewes, DE to Atlantic City, NJ. Instead of driving around, which would have taken a bit longer especially if we hit traffic, we decided to do the ferry. Easy on and easy off. They did overcharge me however. I took my receipt into the terminal and they credited me back what they... More

We very much enjoy the "break from the ordinary" and have frequented the Cape May-Lewes Ferry these many years. Our stays in both Rehoboth and Lewes have offered great options for beach bumming and site seeing. We use the Ferry to get a great boat ride and a Bloody Mary. This was our first time on foot and we relied... More
