Be sure to make a reservation several days prior to your trip. It is more expensive to ride on the ferry than the gas you would use to drive around, but the hour or so of scenery and the ability to relax breaks up your trip. The ferry has wi fi and a large screen tv that passengers can watch.... More

I love going across on the ferry. It's very easy to get to, simple to book and the folks are all so friendly. I've done it once with the car and this time on foot. There is a shuttle bus that takes you right into Cape May for $4 return. It's worth doing even if you turn around and come... More

Whether you are on the Lewes side or the Cape May side, the ferry makes it possible to have a fun and (relatively) inexpensive day on the "other" side. As long as you don't take a car, the price is very reasonable, and the trip is great fun for people of all ages. The ride alone makes for a great... More

I made reservations for the Cape May to Lewes ferry months in advance because I knew I didn't want to get there without a reservation and have to drive from Cape May to Rehobeth. It was one of the best ideas I had all vacation! The staff was attentive, the ride smooth and uneventful (isn't that what you want when... More

We have been traveling on the Cape May Lewes Ferry for almost 50 years. This year it celebrates this golden anniversary. Since I was a child my family used the ferry to make a trip a bit shorter. The ferry has really improved and changed over the years. It is fun because they have quite a few ships, so you... More

We had no idea what to expect but were amazed at the seating in the main cabin and the overall tranquility of the trip. Got to see dolphins and ships in the shipping lane (both promised by the captain). We brought our lunch from Zabar's deli in NYC from the previous day and luxuriated in the cabin, barely leaving to... More

We were making a trip of the Jersey beaches at LBI and Cape May, going on to DE beach area before going to north DE and return to CT. The ferry cut out several hours of travel by car and was a fun change. We made a reservation but you need not be there an hour early. Plenty to do... More

We were going to ride on the Kalmar Nyckel so decided to take the ferry over. I had a coupon code, but found out I needed the actual coupon. :-( I did however have AAA so I did get a discount. Bags are searched before boarding, but it's done quickly & efficiently. We opted to sit outside on deck chairs... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a great review. It really sounds like you had a great day. I'm happy you were able to take part in our AAA promotion and that the dolphins decided to come out and play while you were on board. We do offer shuttle service on both sides of the bay... More

My family and I arrived at the Cape May Ferry. Lady at the toll both took our information and reservation and after a couple minutes we were told the police had closed the ferry. " it's just what they do she said" you can talk to them. It was 2:18 when we arrived and could clearly see them loading vehicles... More

We took the ferry from Lewes to Cape May. Even though we did not have a reservation, we arrived early enough that we were accommodated. Looking back, I would recommend calling first if you are coming from far away, but it worked out for us. We also made a reservation at the same ticket booth for a return trip two... More

What a great review to read. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Reservations are always recommended but I am so glad to hear that we were able to accommodate you. The crossing is such a great way to relax during at times a stressful drive. Thank you for travelling with us and we hope to see you... More
