Has a good deal of history to be explored here if you are a fellow explorer who likes to know the meaning and significance of a place. Not a lot of interactive stuff, but very visual. Right in town. Lovely park and grounds, too!

Small museum but very quaint. Worth the effort to check it out if your are in Lewes. Park nearby and walk around the area.

The Zwaanendale Museum was a quaint piece of history in the middle of Lewes. Nice for a quick diversion or break from the sun if visiting in the summer. Went with my family on a cloudy day and we all enjoyed learning about the history of the town and seeing the many artifacts.

Visited this museum. Small facility, focused on the Dutch ship that came to Lewes. The docent did a great job sharing the history with us.

They've got some great artifacts and very helpful staff. It's free to enter as well, so take advantage of this while you are in town.

Make sure to stop for some historic dutch and the early history of Lewes. It is not a place to plan to visit alone.

I gained some insight into naval technology of the 1700s and the early settlement of Delaware. Outstanding attraction, especially for free.

You can visit this museum in under an hour. The exhibits change but the old building is delightful. Check the local newspapers for lectures and events on the grounds.

A museum can be as much or as little as you are willing to invest your time. I found the old maps quite fascinating and was able to piece together a number of questions I had about the original settlement, where it was, and what went wrong back in 1631. We had a guide who, if given the full chance,... More

Kept passing this place and eventually gave into temptation. We were enthusiastically welcomed and treated like V.I.P's. We were given a deeply informative tour of the museum and even invited to a Dutch - American event to see the remains of the British warship De Braak which is preserved in the Cape Henlopen State Park. We returned for a lecture... More
