Beautiful building, but the entrance is around the side, off that main drag. So if you are trying to get into the building, it is a walk around. Very helpful information desk, which is great. Also very nice views from the building. State archives is attached to the building.

Call before you go or come to Delaware. Hours are not always convenient. Location is easy to get to even though it is a bit off the beaten path. There is not a whole lot there, main focus is on historic city of Dove

We only had a few minutes to park near the Capitol Building and walk around. The building itself follows the usual standards for state capitols. Two equal sides, for House and Senate. Looked a bit like an insurance company building, but it was still kinda cute. We found parking on the street. Best small point: we saw reserved parking spaces... More

The Visitor Center is located in the same building as the Delaware Archives and a great place to start your tour as they have maps, brochures and can start your touring in the right direction. They have changing displays you can visit in the building. They also have restrooms.

This was my first stop I downtown Dover to get a map and some travel literature. The women at the Visitor Center were very knowledgeable and helpful. One staffer pointed out that the Biggs Museum of American Art was right next door to the two places I planned to visit---the Old State House and The Green which is part of... More

We visited the State Capitol and Visitor's Center and found the trip very informative. We were here for a class project for my son. The young man that gave the tour was fantastic. He patiently answered my son's many questions and provided him with some great information for his state project. Very happy we decided to visit.

Plenty of handouts and maps of things to do in and near Delaware. A nice place to take a break if you have had a long drive.
