Amazing records

Was at the archives to assist someone with some genealogy research. The people there were knowledgeable about their collection and were able to help me find what I was looking for

What a wonderful place to do genealogy research. Such a nice building, and everyone was so helpful. We traveled from Indiana to Delaware to do research and were amazed at all the information we were able to find. This is a first class facility.

This public facility is one of the finest archives of information dating back to the 1700's. Be prepared to spend a half day to learn about the First State

This archive holds all types of records for Delaware. If you are doing genealogy research, you don't have to go to multiple depositories like courts, archives etc. Its very organized and friendly. You get a personal tour of the research room facility by expert archivists. The equipment available for free use is more than sufficient. They even have a microfilm... More

Visited this government building when I researched my family history. Very nice building. Clean and quiet. You have to be prepared to put your personal items in a locker as they are not allowed in the building where researching is conducted. You can leave items in your car. Take pencil and paper if you are doing a family history search.... More

Before I graduated high school in 2010, I would often stop by at this place after being dropped off by DART Bus 106. There, I would catch up with my schoolwork and other affairs; it was a place where I could able to relax and refresh myself. I often called DPA as my "hub" or "thinking place". I was going... More

I stopped in to check out some historic maps and was promptly greeted and made very welcome. The staff listened carefully to my needs and were able to point me directly to what I was looking for. The big surprise was the exhibit space and welcome to Dover information. This is the place to stop first for any history buff... More

I use the archives as a research resource with some regularity, but their public displays are worth a visit, always curated in an interesting way.
