Less busy than Rehoboth because it is harder to park on street. Lifeguards aren't as overbearing as they can be in NJ.

We came for the day and had no issues. The beach was clean, and we even got to see some dolphins swimming not too far from the shore. There were "Umbrella Girls" set-up along the beach to set up umbrellas and chairs for you, and sell snacks. I rented an umbrella for $12 and it was well worth it. It... More

Dewey Beach is a great destination if you have kids. The beach is wide and clean. The water is usually pretty calm. Dewey has lifeguards on duty during the summer. The restaurants (including the bars) have children's menus. You can also ride the Jolly Trolley to Rehoboth Beach if you want to go to the boardwalk. They have bonfires and... More

When traveling to the area we typically stay in Rehoboth Beach, This time we decided to stay in Dewey. The beach was nice. There is no board walk and the shops are on the main road rather than the beach. It makes the beach feel a little more natural. During the summer dogs are allowed on the beach in the... More

Very nice east coast beach. They have movies on Tuesday nights and a bon fire on Thursday evenings. It is a bit less crowded then Rehoboth.

Dewey Beach is a clean, family beach. One of the best advantages is that you can take your dog on the beach any time during the off season and early morning and evening during the summer. It's a fun time with dog and family events all year.

We have been fortunate enough to have access to a property that is on the beach for several years. We are able to go to the beach before it gets to busy. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, but this is typically a party beach when you are here during high-season. We also walked a path from Dewey... More

Nice beaches. Quiet in off season. A lot of restaurants in walking distance. Unfortunately, most of them are closed. Take a drive a few miles north and walk around Rehoboth Beach....but worth staying in Dewey for the discounted prices.

We love to come here off season to walk on the beach. The Hotels are really inexpensive and the Hyatt place is pet friendly. This is a lovely family area
